Amitriptyline, Jesus!!!

I have been switched to Amitriptyline from Citalopram. The Citalopram
pooped out, I have been on it for 3 years. Anyway took my first dose
last night. WOW what a sleep. I slept for 18 hours. I do hope that
doesn't happen everytime. I have to work you know. I feel really good
though, it's like the sleep I should have had. For the first time in I
don't know how long I feel like I have had a good nights sleep. 18
hours yes. But maybe I needed it. My quality of sleep has been so bad
of late, maybe this is catch up time.

75mg of Amitriptypline.

I'll report back tomorrow as to if I sleep for as long again. My
feeling is I won't, I just think my body needed the catch up time.

Well it's my third day. I managed to get up at 6:30 am this morning.
Didn't feel tired at all. I took my dose last night at 6:00 pm. I must
be getting some damned good quality sleep. I havn't felt this good or
clearheaded in a long while.

No side effect either. Just a little bit of dried mouth, but I can
summon up saliva easily.

As a rule initial fatigue from Anafranil goes away with time.

The dry mouth is a very common side effect and will probably stay. Lack
of saliva may speed up dental decay, something to watch. I am on
Anafranil's older brother imipramine (and I was on Anafranil
successfully for about 10 years until it pooped out on me) and these
TCA's almost invariably cause a dry mouth. I never go anywhere without
my bottle of mineral water.
