Default Hmmm I need some opinions

Hi everybody, I alway been coming here for several years now.
I read alot of your postings , (first time poster).
I have been diagnosed with panic\anxiety and severe depression.
I have been kept in check with some meds.
its going on 10 years now with different med( you name it, i took it)
and the last 3-4 years my meds have been the same.
they seem to keep me where i need to be.
recently i had my medicare plan changed and they dont cover my klonopin
(3mg daily) they say their is a substitute. i know most of the facts
about klonopin and
that it can have some really bad withdrawal problems. you might have
guessed
i need to get a substitute, so its something me and the doc gotta
discuss.
but in your opinions what could you tell me about the best closest med
to klonopin
that will not only keep me in check, but also take over for klonopin
without any really bad side effects.
I also take 40-60 mg prozac daily.i'm quite aware of the length of this
message , but i figured being my first post here, it would be
appropriate to give more detailed info.
i assure you i will get with the program and use proper nettique (spelt
wrong) from here on in.
So dont blast me, it seems thats all people do anymore.
so i apologize for this posting. if you must get it out of you, talk
about my mother or something lol.

Thank you very much

Datguy

Maybe your insurance will cover generic clonazepam (= Klonopin, just not
the brand name which is a lot more expensive)?
Another option: Xanax XR (or generic *alprazolam* XR) which should do
the trick as well.

There is nothing wrong with your message, it isn't even that long.
I don't understand that you take *40-60 mg* of Prozac. It's either 40 or
60, 60 being a high dose. But it's not to be recommended to change the
dose on a daily basis.

Not to worry! Glad you unlurked.

Thank you very much.
I just read so many people get yelled at for not writing properly on
some of these groups, lol.
I though i'd cover my back and apologize ahead of time, lol.

I looked up the generic and they dont cover that either, actually
clonazepam was the drug on the list.
however xanax is covered. lorazapem, diazepam are both covered.
i have 90 klonopin, i didn't want to get caught short. I will call my
insurance
to make sure , then talk to doc.

thank you very much, I knew you guys would have some ideas.
i enjoy very much reading this group and reference it often.
i see i am not alone in this world. lol

is it klonopin or ANY benzo? (i'm soooo guessin' ANY benzo and that
ain''t good.)

i'm thinkin' it's about ta be "WELCOME TO THA WONDERFUL WORLD'AH
BUSPAR"... or another "designer drug" and ya might as well rent'ah
gun'n buy'ah bullet in my book (which nobody reads, thank GOD)

there AIN'T no substitutes for'ah benzo if yer already dependant,
you'll sieze, possibly, at best... and die, possibly... or wish ya
were dead, at least.

SUMbody in that arena has ta know tha repercussions of immediate
discontinuence of a benzo, and their OWN responsibility if they dictate
such.

they might not pay for a benzo, that don't mean ya can't stay on one.

ya might have ta pay for xanax (which is cheaper than klonopin) and
that's about 8 bucks a month for 120 mgs a month with'ah discount card
which i use and used (instead of my insurance, when i had insurance)
cuz it's much cheaper with the discount card as opposed to insurance
reimbursement.

> I also take 40-60 mg prozac daily.

is that'ah lot?

> i'm quite aware of the length of this

maybe not a LOT, yer coherent.

> but i figured being my first post here, it would be
