Default Which is stronger: 1mg Xanax or 2mg Klonopin?

    Hi folks.

I spend most of my time over on the chronic pain forum, but I also
suffer from panic attacks. Recently my doctor switched me to 2mg
Klonopin from the 1mg Xanax I was taking. In both cases there
prescribed twice a day. The Xanax helped me, but it seemed to wear off
too quick. The Klonopin really seems to work better for me, and I dare
say it seems a little bit stronger than the Xanax I was taking.

But, I read from some people how Xanax is stronger of the two (and
stronger than valium too). I was just curious what people here think
about this. Xanax helped me, but it seemed to wear off in as little as
2-3 hours (1mg). The Klonopin seems to last over 4-6 hours per pill.
So, for me the Klonopin is the stronger. I also feel that Valium is
    stronger, generally speaking, than Xanax.

I know everybody is different. Perhaps nobody will agree, and thats
fine. But I am curious as to what others think. - Thanks

    Opinions?

According to the benzo equivalency charts Klonopin is twice as potent as
Xanax which in turn is ten times as strong as Valium.
Xanax is a fast and short acting benzo (lasts for an average offive
hours unless you take Xanax XR which will cover you for 12 or 24 hours
depending on the rate of metabolism), Klonopin is a slow and long acting
benzo (twice a day is usually enoughm some people need three times a
day) and Valium is more or less somewhere in between and has added
    muscle relaxant qualities.
But, as you say, everybody is different and these equivalency charts
should be taken with a grain of salt. The bottom line is *if it works,
it works* and it seems advisable to take what works best for you (yes,
    that's rocket science ;-)

I've been on 8 mg of Xanax daily for the last 14 years, and have no
problem with them. I'd rather live a life hooked on xanax, where I can
go out in public and function, rather than to take nothing and hide in
    my house 24/7.
