Default UPDATE: On my chest pains and tingling finger's.

Now I have been very anxious of late. Not sure why, but I had recently
come of off 20mg of Escitalopram over a period of 6 months. I was
completely clean for 5-6 weeks, then I started getting anxiety and
panic attacks. The symptoms were chest pains rapid and slow pulse rates
and tingling fingers, mostly left handed. Yesterday I paid the money to
get a full examination ECG, Blood Glucose and Cholesterol. All of which
were in excepted limits, in other words fully healthy.
"What could it be?" I asked the Doctor, he told me a whole host of
things. Firstly with my mental health issues Schizophrenic and
Depression symptoms of the past is could be anxiety. Secondly it could
be an infection of the lung. Thirdly it could be muscle related. Forth
it could be something called carpal tunnel syndrome in the wrists.
Fifth RSI. He wants me back at the medical centre in 2 weeks for a
follow up ECG just to be sure.
So with all this in mind he prescribed an on going dose of Fluoxetine (
I Have only been taking it for 2 and half weeks) Alprazolam for anxiety
and Ibuprofen for chest pains.

My conclusion is this, since taking a dose of Alprazolam I seem to be
feeling a whole lot better. That and the results all came back as a
healthy 28 year old male. Knowing this fact has made me feel somewhat
better. I still get the finger tingling but, with the Ibuprofen the
chest pains are better. Which makes me think it's muscular. Also I
think maybe since I have been taking the Fluoxetine for 2 and half
weeks. It's beginning to kick in. The Alprazolam helps with the slight
niggles I get from time to time.

Well, I just thought I would let you all know how it went. Seeing as I
was convincing my self I was having a heart attack. I feel a lot
better. Thanks for the support.

As a side note. I don't think my wife ever wants me to come off of an
SSRI again. Doctor's and Hospital bills and all that. It cost me 50
quid for the whole shabang. Meds included as well. Thats quite a bit of
money in dear old South Africa. "Stay on the Prozac." she said, "I'll
pay the fucking 3 pound a month it costs for it."

Hi Chris,
I recall having all these tests at some time.
Conclusion for me anxiety. Treatment alprazolam (Xanax)
Remember tingling fingers may well be hyperventilation.
YMMV
