Tell Laurie to pound sand.
She doesn't give a ratz ass about you, she only cares about what you can do
for her.
You are just the latest of a long line of suckers. You however are the
dumbest of them all. She knows that. |

perhaps understanding doesn't necessarily beget empathy.
maybe the two can be mutually exclusive.

i still don't see Laurie mentioned, but i s'pose it's a valid
assumption.

LOL! Perhaps you should look up the word empathy, and get back to me.
Unless you've spent most of your life as a gold digging drunken whore
empathizing with Laurie could be next to impossible. |

to identify with a situation doesn't mean to sympathize. it does
require a modicum of understanding of what the situation is in order to
identify.
i was asking nothing of you, demanding nothing of you, it's merely not
my style. (as if i gotta style...lord.)
~~~~perhaps understanding doesn't necessarily beget empathy. maybe the
as you can see, i was making an observation, a personal one, not to be
confused with a "truth." i was also suggesting possibilities, not to
be confused with "truths," and throwing in my opinion, not to be
confused with the "truth."
i have people in my life i despise and could or WOULDn't sympathize
with, yet i can relate and empathize.
i wasn't demanding anything of you, Dan, nor was i asking anything of
you. i'm accepting of people as they are, i don't pretend that adding
or subtracting from from people would lend even a modicum of interest,
much less joy to my life.
i prefer RAW, IRON...SOUL.
i think you know that, Dan.
now... not that being a gold diggin' drunken whore doesn't have it's
appeal, mind ya, but i never been cute enuff ta pull that'n off.
i had ta "wet muh lipppppppppppppppppps'n make love to tha cam'rah"...
and all i heard for years was "GURL? YOU BETTAH WERK!"
(SASHAY, SHANTE')
....and WERK !
now in muh old age i gotta work just downright laborious "jobs"... and
it makes me just wanna cry.
SEND MONEY !
I have no idea who you refer to, with your quandary. In general, if
you were a "care-provider" for this person, you would continuously set
aside your own needs, and attempt to assist and support the person
you're having difficulties with. If it isn't a professional care-
giving situation, that changes the whole thing - making it a simple
"adult to adult" relationship. Adult/Adult relationships (by
definition) require that there be a 'give and take' element. Once
your "give" exceeds your "take" there are going to be problems, and
they will snowball into larger problems, and eventually the
relationship will fail. You can do whatever you like about it at this
point, but know that if you give more than you get, you will not
achieve longevity (in terms of knowing this person).
