Default Withdrawals??? Or Panic Attacks Due to Withdrawals???

I have been off of Escitalopram for 5 weeks now. However I keep getting
what would be described as Brain Shocks except they are not in the
Brain. Imagine the same sensation in the chest. Thats what I've got.
They only happen at night before falling asleep. Along with various
numbness and tingling. Is this normal? My withdrawal was from 20mg to
5mg over six months. Also my moods are up and down. I can wake up on
top of the world, only by lunchtime to feel slightly suicidal.

Help.

Hi Chris,
If I went off my Lexapro, I know that my depression would return. I do
not believe it has gone away, rather it is treated.
Is the numbness and tingling in your fingers? You may be
hyperventilating.
I strongly urge you to discuss these symptoms and mood swings with a
doctor.

Unfortunately I can't afford a Doctor right now. As I have moved from
the United Kingdom to South Africa. Yes it's in my fingers.

I feel much as Meryl does. If I were taken off my med, then I would
revert back to the way I was before medication; namely uncontrolable
panic attacks. Regarding anxiety disorders, there is little, if any,
distinction between return of an untreated disorder vs withdrawal
symptoms.

Best Wishes,
Arthur

Tingling fingers are associated with hyperventilation.
When it happens try breathing in, holding your breath for a few
seconds and slowly breathing out and then repeat.

CBT could help. Here is a free online program.
