Default Another surgery in my future

Saw the oncologist this morning. I was a little nervous because I had been
having a similar symptom....i.e., hard area in my abdomen when standing,
pain, and tenderness when I wasn't standing. I was nervous because, of
course, I thought the cancer had returned (it's been 4 months since the last
chemo). Anyway, he examined me, put me through a few paces, and said he's
pretty sure it's an incisional hernia. I will be seeing a surgeon next
Thursday the 29th to be sure and, if so, to schedule the surgery to fix it.
It will be done as a laparoscopic procedure, he said, but the surgeon will
decide which one and how extensive.

Whew! I wasn't looking forward to more chemotherapy! Glad it's "just" a
hernia. Even though it's surgery, it won't be nearly as bad as the last one
when they split me open pretty much top to bottom. Still not totally
recovered from that!

{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{deetee}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} i'm glad it is "just a hernia" that
can be taken care of , too, sweetie. and am so glad for your relief. i'm
also sorry you had to experience the "little nervous" residual that comes
from having experienced medical trauma. you are not alone in experiencing
that residual. as you probably already know, that residual will diminish
with time and affimation that you are ok.

DeeTee, I know it seems strange to say you'll be glad to have this surgery.
But when compared to the last one, that's something else to be thankful for.

DeeTee,

sending prayers and good thought and healing thoughts your way. I am sorry

Oh, DeeTee, and you still took time to email me a Thanksgiving greeting.
You are certainly a wonderful person.

Thank goodness it wasn't the cancer! I know from my grandmothers
description how painful the incisional hernia can be but I know she was so
pleased at the time it wasn't the colon cancer back. "Just a hernia" - nope
but it does help to know that phrase.

Hope your thanksgiving was great DeeTee. Have been thinking of you lately
and it was all good. Time to wash this bracelet well - it is well worn.
