| | | Anyone ever have cortizone shots in the neck? Hello all! After another great rheumy visit during which I received
yet another cort. shot in my thumb, he decided he wants me to see a
physiatrist for possible shots in my neck.
I am shuddering even to think about it. I've had many shots,
shoulders, ankle, and many in my wrists and thumbs, but never in the
neck. I was wondering if anyone here had them before and if so, a)
did it hurt a lot and b) did it help?
Thanks for any help,

| | | Re: Anyone ever have cortizone shots in the neck? Char, I've had shots in both sides of my neck three times. My RD is so good
at it. He rubs my neck with a wet swab and gets the needle in by the time
he finishes with the swab. I hardly feel it.

| | | Re: Anyone ever have cortizone shots in the neck? Yes, I had shots in my neck, but probably won't again because of: it was
more painful than other areas, it was only short-term relief, and it
frightened me a little that when I got up to leave the office, I felt a
little unbalanced, almost as someone who was drunk and couldn't walk in a
straight line. It only lasted minutes, but it was not a good feeling for
me. My shots were given close to the skull where most of my headaches
originate. Nanny

| | | Re: Anyone ever have cortizone shots in the neck? I've had shots in my neck two or three times. My RD is verry good at it; he
rubs the neck with alcohol swab and has the needle in by the time he moves
the swab. It realy doesn't hurt, just a minor sting. And it has really
helped me with the pain in my neck.
