| | | bet i'm not the only one flaring today! anyone else?
around 5 yesterday, we left for my stepdaughter's house (she only lives
10 minutes away). i was feeling perky. took off my brace and wore
normal shoes. by the time we got home around 9, i felt 1000 years old.
everything hurt-- from carrying the baby, lifting the toddler, carting
toys upstairs, and i didn't even have to cook anything. pathetic. but i
bet i'm not alone. . . and it was fun.

| | | Re: bet i'm not the only one flaring today! Yeah You are not alone.
My one son came down, brought all the food, all the dishes, etc and cooked
us dinner. So not much dishes to clean up of ours. I think the only ones we
used of our own was plates and silverware. Oh and one pot for gravy.
So that was so cool. But boy was I hurting by the time they left. I wasn't
allowed to do anything to help either.
I felt bad for him. He got hurt at work a week ago. A chair broke in half
that he was sitting on. He fell quite away, it was like a tech chair or
something like that but was high. He hurt his upper back, neck and head and
didn't even report it. But boy was he hurting like mad after that and
cooking all afternoon. I think he was in the kitchen for like 6 hours.
But after a good nights sleep I feel much better.
I hope you do too Diane.

| | | Re: bet i'm not the only one flaring today! same-ish story here, sans brace and toddler. my son's home is a 3 story
townhouse with vaulted ceilings. so, the stair flights were steep and long.
i could barely get out of bed this morning, with great difficulty.
my son's delightful girlfriend is thai. she'd never experienced a
traditional thanksgiving dinner before and wanted to. so, alex made the
entire feast, except for the dressing (which i made the night before, which
he picked up then) and buttermilk whipped potatoes, because he wanted my
"touch" on those.<smile> she made a thai fruit salad and a yummy coconut
milk and taro root dessert which added to all the fun of all of us tasting
new things. i was pleasantly surprised at how very much she enjoyed our
traditional courses. what surprised me was that her favorites were breast
meat, dressing, potatoes, gravy, stuffed eggs and sweet potato pie; and she
wasn't shy about helping herself to them (i liked that).<smile>

LOL - that reminds me of friends of ours who bought their *retirement* home
in our area - a 3 story townhouse condo! They're in their mid-60s now and
still fairly spry, but I would have warned them not to expect it to stay that
way. Oh well, they're in it now so I'll hold my tongue. At least Mike and I
agreed that we retire on ONE floor!
Meanwhile, we had an extremely low key T-day with friends - one family of
whom had some ribs they needed to use so we had ribs rather than turkey. It
was fun, but I was exhausted and my ribs were screaming when we left. How
I'd love to once again spend a few hours chatting with friends without being
in major pain afterwards! At least some of the pain resulted from having fun
though.
