Thrombosis and lupus are very closely linked.

In lupus they tell us everyone is iron deficient.
They are KNOWINGLY disregarding markers .. though .. which tell us
lupus patients are NOT iron deficient but in fact seem to be iron
overloaded.

IE: high rates of thrombosis and high levels of lactate dehydrogenase
and high levels of iron storage ferritin.

Now with such a high rate of thrombosis in lupus and seeing it is the
increased red blood cell production which causes thrombosis in some
similar diseases it might AGAIN make one wonder whether increased red
blood cell production IS .. present .. in lupus .. ?

Especially .. since they are NOW using cyclophosphamide which is used
specifically to LOWER the marrow .. production.

Lupus Headache

There is no doubt that a variety of neurological conditions (including
so-called lupus headache) occur in people with systemic lupus
erythematosus (SLE). It has been generally accepted for many years
that there is an association between primary headaches (headaches that
are not a symptom of disease) and SLE.

Nevertheless there is great controversy regarding the concept of
"lupus headache" and whether it exists at all.

There is little doubt that many patients with lupus have headaches so
why the controversy and does it actually matter?

Résumé :
Objective:
To study the prevalence of headache in patients with systemic lupus
erythematosus (SLE) and normal population as well as associated
conditions. Method:
Forty nine SLE patients and 50 controls were analyzed for presence of
headaches (tensional and migraine). In the SLE group, we studied the
occurrence of Raynaud, teleangiectasis, cutaneous vasculitis,
convulsions and antiphospholipid antibodies. Results:
Among SLE patients, 42 had headaches (85.7%), 29 with migraine and 13
tensional; on the control group, 28 had headaches (57.1%), 18 migraine
and 10 tension type with p=0.0026 for migraine. In SLE patients we did
not find any association between migraine and Raynaud (p=0.34),
teleangiectasis (p=0.77), cutaneous vasculitis (p=0.63), seizures
(p=0.13), aCl IgG (p=0.45), IgM (=0.07) and LAC (p=0.59).
Conclusion:
Migraine is more prevalent in the SLE population. However, it has no
relationship with Raynaud, teleangiectasis, seizures, cutaneous
vasculitis and antiphospholipid antibodies.

INTRODUCTION:
Half of the patients with genetic hemochromatosis will have
arthritis.
Two of these articular involvements are well-known: the arthropathy
involving the phalangeal and the metacarpophalangeal joints of the
hand, useful
for diagnosis, and hip arthropathy.
Iron deposits seem to be involved in articular cartilage destruction.
EXEGESIS:
We report five cases of patients with hemochromatosis hip
involvement.
Hip arthropathy revealed hemochromatosis in one case and appeared
despite efficient phlebotomies in another case.
Three of these patients required hip arthroplasty.
CONCLUSION:
Hip arthropathy remains a frequent but unknown event in genetic
hemochromatosis (12.5%) and it involves the functional prognosis.

Objective. To compare prevalent cardiovascular disease, conventional
cardiovascular risk factors and thrombotic variables in a cohort with
well-controlled rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and in population controls.

Methods. Seventy-six RA patients and 641 controls, randomly sampled
from the local population in the North Glasgow MONICA study.
Conventional cardiovascular risk factors (blood pressure, smoking,
cholesterol) and thrombotic variables [fibrinogen, von Willebrand
factor (vWF), tissue plasminogen activator antigen (t-PA), fibrin D-
dimer, plasminogen activator inhibitor (PAI-1), plasma viscosity] were
measured by standard procedures.

Results. RA patients had a significantly higher prevalence of angina
pectoris (P=0.03). Stroke also tended to be more common in the RA
group, but the difference did not reach statistical significance
(P=0.08). Diastolic blood pressure was significantly higher and serum
cholesterol significantly lower in the RA group than in controls.
Current smoking habits and exercise history were similar in the two
groups, although RA patients were more likely to have previously
smoked. Significant elevations in several thrombotic predictors of
cardiovascular disease (fibrinogen, vWF, t-PA antigen and fibrin D-
dimer) were found in the RA group.

Conclusions. In this RA patient population, diastolic blood pressure
was higher than in controls and thrombotic variables were elevated
compared with controls. These features are identified as potential
additional cardiovascular risk factors in the RA patients studied.
Prospective studies of risk modification may permit the identification
of factors which could lead to a reduction in the known increased
cardiovascular risk in RA.

KEY WORDS: Rheumatoid arthritis, Cardiovascular disease, Risk factors,
Thrombotic variables.

claims I made about you flooding multiple news groups!!! This is from
this thread that you posted in 5 groups and posted the same thread over

ROFL!!! Tommy, mr rustbucket spammer troll, you have no clue what so
ever of what I or anyone else knows.

You KNOW that flooding multiple news groups with the same posts over and
over and over and over again is against most all ISP's terms of service.
You still do it whether it has anything to do with the group or not!
YOU are the stupid one, but then you already know that and so does
everyone else!

Is it really necessary to keep posting the same thing over and over and
over again? Of course not, but since you are a dangerous spammer troll
who practices medicine without a license, advertises commercial sites,
and practices dangerous breaches of terms of service, you obviously have
no regard or concern for any human life.

When proven wrong, you resort to name calling and foul
language---further proof of who you are and what you are! Sad, so very
sad.

Résumé / Abstract
Objective
To investigate the possible relationships between plasma homocysteine
levels and thrombotic events in a select population of rheumatoid
arthritis (RA) patients with or without antiphospholipid (aPL)
antibody positivity, Methods 168 female RA patients attending the
Extra-articular Involvement RA Clinic of University of Genova and 72
female subjects matched for age and vascular diseases as controls were
included in the study. 30 of the RA patients showed aPL antibody
positivity and 138 aPL antibody negativity on the basis of the
concomitant presence or absence of high concentrations of
anticardiolipin (aCL) antibodies or the presence of lupus
anticoagulant (LA). All subjects were evaluated for plasma
homocysteine concentrations and for the occurrence of thrombotic
events. Results Twenty-five RA patients and 5 controls reported a
history of thrombotic events. Eleven and 5 of RA patients were found
to have been previously affected by venous or arterial thrombosis,
respectively. Plasma levels of homocysteine in aPL antibody positive
patients with thrombosis were found to be significantly higher than in
aPL antibody positive RA patients without thrombosis (p < 0.001). When
RA patients with thromboses were analyzed, a significant increase of
plasma homocysteine levels was found in aPL antibody-positive RA
patients versus aPL antibody-negative RA patients (p < 0.04) and
versus related controls (p < 0.003). Conclusions The association
observed between aPL antibody positivity and high levels of plasma
homocysteine in RA patients may represent a possible risk factor for
thrombotic events. Therefore, it is suggested that
hyperhomocysteinemia might be involved in the vascular-related
mortality observed in RA patients with a history of thrombosis.

Diabetes Mellitus Does Not Increase Thrombogenicity of the Arterial

Background: Diabetes mellitus is associated with an increased risk
for acute arterial thrombosis. We evaluated the effect of
hyperglycemia on expression of proinflammatory and prothrombotic
genes, as well as on the prothrombotic potential of the vessel wall in
LDLr-/- mice.

Materials and methods: LDLr-/- mice were divided in three groups:
mice on control chow (n= 10), mice on western-type diet (n= 8) and
mice on western-type diet in combination with streptozotocin induced
diabetes (n= 9). The extent of atherosclerosis was assessed at the
aortic sinus. Vascular gene expression was measured by rt-PCR. Ferric
chloride-induced thrombus formation was evaluated in the carotid
artery.

Results: Diabetic mice possessed significantly higher glucose and
cholesterol levels than control mice. In addition, western-type diet
resulted in diabetic mice in 140% larger mean atherosclerotic lesion
size compared to control mice, (P= 0.066). Lesion size correlated to
both glucose (r2= 0.585; P < 0.001) and cholesterol levels (r2= 0.563;
P < 0.001). Tissue factor and p-selectin mRNA levels in the arterial
wall increased 20% in mice on western diet compared to control fed
mice (P < 0.05). No further augmentation was observed in diabetic mice
on western-type diet. Surprisingly, no difference was observed in time
to thrombus formation between mice with and without western-type diet
and with or without diabetes.

Conclusions: Although induction of diabetes, leading to hyperglycemia
and hypercholesterolemia, was associated with larger plaque size,
changes in vascular gene expression or thrombus formation were not
observed. This suggests that the increased risk for atherothrombotic
complications in diabetes mellitus is probably more related to
accelerated atherosclerosis than to diabetes specific prothrombotic
changes in the vessel wall.
