Default Chronic Pain Study

I am a Masters student in Psychology at the New School University in
New York, and I am conducting a study on how people cope with chronic
pain.

This is an academic study into the various ways that people experience
pain. Pain perception is a growing area of research that can
potentially be of great help to individuals who experience chronic
pain. The results of this study will add to our understanding of
chronic pain and hopefully will be of service to those treating all
chronic pain conditions.

The study is a short online questionnaire that takes around 10 minutes
to complete. The survey asks about your own, personal, experience of
pain, so there are no right, wrong or 'best' answers.

All the information that you give is absolutely confidential. The New
School regulations require that participants enter their name on the
online consent form to indicate that they have read the form, but the
names will be kept separate from the answers to ensure complete
confidentiality.

I have included a link to the survey below. Please feel free to email
me if you have any questions or concerns about this survey. Thanks for
your help!

You would have greater luck if your link was .edu.

People are hesitant to click on a link such as you posted
for fear it is an "address harvester" who will sell the
responders' addresses to spammers.

I know that link he provided to survey monkey is a common site for surveys,
including legit research surveys. (my sister has used it for a research
survey). Still, I too would like more references for legitimacy before
taking the survey. We know too many stories here of problems in cyberspace.

I appreciate your concerns, but the New School IT dept. was not able
to set up the survey on the school's site. The consent form indicates
that this study has been approved by the New School IRB and gives the
name and email address of the professor who is overseeing the
project.
Hope this helps. If you do not feel comfortable I
completely understand.
Thanks
Peter

I can well understand that, Peter, as I attended the New School also.
People who do not do programming do not understand the hours it takes to
set up an online survey. I design websites and often use utilities
that are already out there. As a former New School student, I will be
happy to do your survey.

You are going to an excellent school. I live in the state of Washington
now, and I have to say it's one of the things I miss about living in
NYC. The courses there were excellent.
