"Cubicle Solutions" of New Hampshire: Employees Unwilling to Move
Truck Blocking 2 Handicapped AND Senior Shuttle Bus Parking.
-----
This happened on Monday, April 14, 2008 around 11:30 AM, in the
Brigham Circle area of Boston, Massachusetts.
A truck belonging to CUBICLE SOLUTIONS of New Hampshire blocked access
to 2 handicapped-parking and a Shuttle Bus for Seniors parking spaces
for about 20 minutes.
When they did so, the Shuttle Bus was directly behind them. The bus
driver repeatedly called to the 3 employees who walked away from him.
I called from across the parking lot that their truck was blocking
these spaces. I was also ignored.
When I went to the back of the bus and confronted the employees of
Cubical Solutions, they refused to reply, let alone move their truck.
They continued to unload it. When I persisted with my complaint, I
was told by one of the employees to "eat shit pie".
A call to the Cubical Solutions company resulted in an unsatisfactory
response.

mayor's office - whoever handles disability issues. if you have council
members by geographic area, who is elected for that district...
also, what business where they unloading for/to? wonder how they feel
about using a provider that does such things?

| | | Re: "Cubicle Solutions" of New Hampshire: Employees Unwilling to Move Truck Blocking 2 Handicapped AND Senior Shuttle Bus Parking Spaces I would call all of those places, including the local Senior Citizen's
Office, after I called the police. If, as in some places, the parking lots
are considered private property, I bet if somebody parked their cars, with
handicap stickers, in front of and behind the offending truck - you would
have seen some action. I was going into a handicapped diagonal parking spot
when some one was coming down the wrong way in the lane. I just sat part
way out, so that he had to back up, so I could back out again and maneuver
into the spot. A lot of our shopping centers here have law enforcement
substations in the mall, which has really helped a lot.

parking spaces, and keeping the Shuttle Bus for Seniors from their parking
space this morning in the Bingham Circle area of Boston, Massachusetts about
11:30 AM.
I hope you don't suffer that fate if you are ever severely handicapped and
really need a space to park, or if you are old and frail and have to ride
the Senior Shuttle Bus when they need their space to park in.

disgruntled employee or someone who has a grudge against this company?
I hope I am wrong.
If this is true, why didn't folks just call the local police. A car
would have been dispatched and the officer would have informed the
driver that the vehicle must be moved. Another action would have been
going inside to the business and asking for the owner and explaining the
problem.

Well, I would also end the conversation aburtly after being told to "eat
shit pie" by one of your employees. No amount of apologies... other than
perhaps seeing your employees doing community service for a disabled or
senority organization... would go toward erasing *that* memory from my mind
if it had happened to me. And you say you wanted to "handle a situation
discretely"? I'll bet. No company wants the disabled community on its rear
end... we're a force to be reckoned with... but the truth of the matter is
your employees need to understand disabled people aren't going to be
"discrete" about rude, *illegal* actions against a fellow disabled person...
and, yes, the action was *illegal*... not just "disrepectful" or an
"inconvenience." I know you won't admit to your employees doing something
"illegal", but that's the truth of the matter. Just check your state laws
out, if you don't believe me. |

I was surprised that I received the same in email. I'm going to assume
that others that emailed received the same.

I consider it, but this was in Boston.
It would likely take them a half-hour or more to get there as it would
be considered a low priority call. By then, the truck could have
moved or even been gone.

Heck, the *only* reason they apologized was because I told them I was
going to post this incident to Usenet (and I had to explain what
Usenet was) -- which then resulted in them getting other complaints.
"Handling it discretly" meant they wanted to keep it out of the
public's attention -- even though their three employees made it very
clearly to everyone around or who walked by *and* the bus driver of
the senior shuttle -- that they didn't give a fuck about blocking
these spaces and they weren't going to move until the finished
whatever they were doing, however long it took.
They sure as hell owned more people that me an apology. I'm not
handicapped; I was parked over 100 yards from where tha truck was. I
was just trying to be a good citizen and got shit from those jerks
about it.
I hope those three guys got more than a slap on the wrist.

Having another bad day, eh? The sound you hear is that rusty heart
that beats in your chest. There is a special place to push the nozel
of the oil can. It's the biggest hole in you body. Now bend over.

You are. I work in a library in the Boston area.

As I said previously, this is Boston. A police car *might* have shown
up in a 1/2 hour or likely longer. This would not have been a high
priority concern for them. By that time they would have moved (which
the did after about 15-20 minutes) or would have long been gone from
the area.
Also I do not have a cell phone.

This was at a shopping center. It was impossible to know who they
were delivering to.
I planned to follow them to whatever company they were delivering to,
but after they had unloaded the truch, then then moved it from
blocking these parking spaces.
Which, by the way, I was totally very clearly by the supervisor(?)
among these three men they were ONLY doing because they WANTED to and
this had NOTHING to do with what I had said or that they were blocking
parking spaces.
These three guys just did *not* care.

Do you know how many seriously wounded and crippled-for-life soldiers
have and are returning from Iraq who now need to use handicapped
parking spaces, Mr Crocodile?
Do you think these soldiers would appreciate you calling their
concerns "petty"?
