ohhh, noooo! owwwwies! rib injuries are so no fun! i'm so sorry you fell
and broke your rib, gwenie. bummer. it JUST doesn't take much at all to
fall, does it. just a little balance issue, or a little perception issue,
or a little uneven muscle strength issue or a little weak tendon issue, or a
little joint issue, or a little fatigue, or a little distraction and
splat-city is only one little issue and one little footstep away. i hope it
heals up quickly for you and that the pain relents very soon.
i hear you about a your housekeeping lady. it's all about order, isn't it?
or, for me it is. i think we all really need a little order in our lives,
from time to time, especially when there are so many chaotic and
discombobulating health issues to deal with. i know a little household
order makes me feel like everything in my life is not out of control nor
uncontrolable.:-) i'm glad you had the opportunity to have your cleaning
lady come in and make you feel more comfortable with your surroundings.
feel better soon, hon.

Kate. I think somebody put a spell on you and me. As I'm just beginning to
feel better most of the time, I'm hurting now. I went to my granddaughter's
last volleyball game on Tuesday afternoon. Usually I ask somebody to help
me up and down the gym steps because they are so far apart and my hip just
won't work there. However, I had a bar at the end of the row that I could
hold on to, and I can do that. However, the bar gave out before the steps
did, and I thought, "Surely I can make this one more step." Well, I
couldn't and I fell. And I broke the 10th rib. It didn't hurt until
yesterday morning, but it sure did hurt then. I thought I had just bruised
my side so just rubbed it with liniment, but it didn't help. So late in the
afternoon I went to "PriMed" and the Dr. did an xray. I found out why it
was hurting so much. He gave me a prescription for
lortab to take when
going to bed, and one for naproxin to take twice a day. I was hurting so
much that I didn't pay attention to what he had prescribed until I had
gotten the medicine and came home from the all-night pharmacy. Then I
realized I can't take naproxin because of ulcers and gastritis. So I went
back today and another doctor who was there (he wasn't since he worked last
night) told me to not take the naproxin, just the lortabs when I needed
them. But he only prescribed 15 and told me to come back for an evaluation
in two weeks. Guess I'll take them as I need them and go back if and when
they are gone.
I had a lady come and clean my house today and plan to have her once a
month. I would love to have her at least every two weeks, but just can't
afford it. I have been so blessed in the past to have somebody come every
week, even after we moved to Florida when Grayson retired. Losing almost
half of Social Security income when he died makes quite a difference! But I
am so glad to have the dust gone and the floors vacuumed even if I could
never have her again. Just makes me feel better.
