How are you doing down there, I am so worried about you.

We just got a break somewhat from all the smoke after 12 days of having to
stay in and unhealthy for anyone days. It is amazing when I have read about
all the lightening strikes and the fires it started. This far exceeds
several years put together and it is only the start.

I see they closed down hi 1 in some areas and that it is getting out of hand
down there for them.

Hi Jo,
it has been very very weird. I am unsure that they will ever get that
indians fire out and Big Sur has never had this big of a fire.
Michael flew in on Friday and said that the whole state seems to be
blanketed with heavy smoke. I am wearing a disposable mask. I have
to laugh through my tears. I always said that if I ever didn't know
where I was going to live, I'd just take the eurovan and go camping.
however, I can't afford the gas it would take to put that show on the
road. And then there is the air quality in the whole state: where
you gonna go?

This state has been burning for over a month. THank God there is no
global warming-we'd really be in trouble then <g>

I hear you there M,

I feel for you all down there, I know we have had the smoke but not to your
extent. I feel for you and moving and the unknown too.

Love you and hugs to you.

The only thing M's area has going for them is at least there are only
fires on three sides of them.

Seems the past week, any time we get a breeze we just get more of
somebody else's smoke.

I am thankful none of the fires are any closer than they are.

And that I was a bitch earlier this spring about getting the owner to
clear the field across the street.

Jo

I have been thinking of you Jo and this smoke. We got rid of alot of it but
I am afraid it came up your way. It has been terrible. We had two weeks of
it. B ut you are having longer of it. Once the delta breeze came in, it sent
it all your way. I feel for you and hope you are doing ok asthma wise.

I couldn't believe what I was reading in the newspaper about 1000 fires in
northern calif.
I think if I remember correctly it said it was from 8000 lightening strikes.
We are like three times more fires than for all of 2007 already and this is
just the start of it. Unbelievable.

You take care and try to stay as smoke free as you can. I hope todays breeze
gives you some much needed relief of the smoke.

We have blue sky straight up right now, which is a huge improvement,
but smoke on all four sides.

At least the expected lightening storms Sunday didn't happen, though
there are several new fires. Still better than the 1000 plus that
started last week. Those of course are still not out. But with Big
Sur still going strong and something starting is Santa Clarita, I'm
sure you have your share of smoke. And it will all be here in due
time.

I'm breathing OK, in part because I'm not able to get below the 5mg of
prednisone I'm still taking. Not even going to try till the air
clears.

Hope you are as well as can be hoped. Ninty degree days seem to agree
with me, and I hope they agree with you as well.

Jo (the other one)

well we got the delta breeze in and it cleared alot of the smoke out.

With me being on pred I think it is the only thing that saved me so far.

haven't been feeling to well with this virus that will not go away and stay
away. the heat has been getting to me too. I can't do much above 80 at all.

I hope you continue to do well with the smoke and it doesn't create problems
for you.

Saw the following headline a few hours ago on the CNN website.

Talk about understatement!

No duh, man do they really mess it up.
They said with the 1200 fires in Calif right now that there is no record of
that many at one time.

Also they said that this is the first time since 1977 that the national
guard would have to send in 200 guards to be trained for fire fighting on
the ground.

It is something else and this is just the start of it too.
