If you had said, "I have a gun and I'm going to make a citizen's
arrest," their priority would have moved up a few notches. <VBG>

Do residents of Massachusetts have the power of citizens' arrest?

Here, an arrest for a misdemeanor must be witnessed by the person
making the arrest (two exceptions are DUI and spousal abuse), and
often it is a civilian who is the only witness.
