Default Starting Remicade.

I'll be starting Remicade shortly as the Humira hasn't done the trick.
I've been on it for a couple of years but it slowly lost it's
effectiveness. I'm allergic to Methotrexate and Arava it appears but
the doc wants me to start Metho again. I'll give it ago but if my
rash starts up again I'll stop it. I talked to a woman yesterday that
started on Remicade a couple of months ago. She said she started
feeling better after the first infusion and feels wonderful now. I'm
hoping for semi wonderful.

I know some here may have questions about Remicade so I'll try to post
my progress.

Good luck with that Thumper. The docs like to combine even a small dose of
mtx or arava with remicade so your body doesn't develop antibodies to it
(that is the theory anyhow). Many do feel better after the first infusion-
may you be one of those.

When I took Remicade it took 3 or 4 treatments (but the first 3 or 4
*are* close together). Several in my "group" got relief after the
first too, so I think that may be the common response, but not unheard
of for it to take several.

Heck after the 6th or 7th treatment, I was able to run again (didn't
even realize it until after I'd run across a parking lot). I was so
excited. It was heaven. I felt normal.

Best of luck to you, Thumper. I hope it's your magic bullet (truly).

Smokie Darling (Annie) - because of my own stupidity, I believe, I
ended up reacting violently to it, but hey, that was just me.
