Default Ameliorating Neuropathy?

Any tips out there for ameliorating neuropathy? Even after having
stopped Xeloda for 10 days now, wife's fingertips and toes are still
somewhat swollen and tender and fingertips have lost much feeling -
cannot feel items held between fingers.
Anyone found hand massage, soaks, or any kind of alternative
treatments effective???
Another strange thing is regular brief vomiting in mornings -
including bright yellow material. Any idea what this is. (Yes, we are in
regular contact with oncologist and onc nurses).
Thank you,
Steve J.

I had quite mild neuropathy, and found massage (including self-massage) to
help _slightly_. Ditto for Chinese exercise balls, for the hands. A friend
who has ongoing neuropathy from Taxotere swears by ice for her feet when the
neuropathy gets especially bad - finds it quite soothing.

I'm at a loss about the vomiting, but I hope you find a solution!

Positive wishes for both of you,

Ann T.

I had no chemo but had neuropathy after a lumpectomy.

I still have it nine years later.

I don't mind, while I itch/tingle/hurt I live :-)

This guy named Allan who posts here said his wife got some relief from the
pain of neuropathy with a drug called Lyrica.

I had neuropathy in my hands and feet while taking Taxotere. That was
almost 3 years ago. One foot never quite recovered. My other foot and my
hands are a lot better now. It just took time. (I should point out,
though, that I didn't have any pain with the neuropathy. Discomfort, yes,
numbness, yes, swelling and clumsiness, yes, but no pain.)

I've been prescribed Amytriptyline for mild neuropathy.

Thank you.

How do you use amytriptyline - topically in a cream?

Googling it makes me nervous see, for example:

I take that as part of my pain management, don't know if it works because I
take it when I go to bed and it makes me sleep - it's a sedative as well as
other things.

That's one of the reasons why it works. I was originally prescribed it
for neuropathy of the feet as a result of Type 2 Diabetes. It certainly
helps with that, even if it doesn't make me sleep.

It doesn't afect my neuropathy. But while I hurt/can't feel/itch/prick I
live :-)
