Amaranth Productions is pleased to announce the International
broadcast premiere of ABSOLUTELY SAFE, a documentary film by Carol
Ciancutti-Leyva.

On August 15 and 16, 2007, ABSOLUTELY SAFE will air on Israeli
television on the YES Network. According to the Israeli network
executives, getting breast implants is now the number one elective
surgery in Israel. If you know people in Israel, please spread the
word about these airdates.

At a time when more women than ever are getting breast implants,
fewer voices than ever seem to be asking "Why?" And fewer still are
asking "Are they safe?" In ABSOLUTELY SAFE, director Ciancutti-Leyva
leads the viewer through the breast implant debate labyrinth with
personal, open-minded, and measured verve.


Set against the stories of Denee, a young woman who chooses to have
implants put in her body, and Wendi, a woman who decides to have her
implants removed from her body because she believes the implants are
causing her serious illness, the film tells the story of other women
who share similar struggles. Along the way, we meet the plastic
surgeons, scientists, toxicologists, breast cancer survivors, and FDA
panelists who fundamentally disagree about the safety of breast
implants.

Ultimately, the film is the story of everyday women who find
themselves and their breasts in the tangled and confusing intersection
of money, science, health and beauty. ABSOLUTELY SAFE reveals that the
conversation on breast implants is far more complex than simple pros
and cons. The real conversation–the most important and most
challenging–rests with us as viewers and the everyday choices we all
make in an appearance obsessed culture.

ABSOLUTELY SAFE is directed and produced by Carol Ciancutti-Leyva,
executive produced by acclaimed filmmaker Jennifer Fox, edited by
Emmy-Award winning Editor Vincent Stenerson, and features the music of
renowned composer Miriam Cutler. The film is endorsed by many leading
women's organizations, including NOW and Our Bodies Ourselves.

ABSOLUTELY SAFE has been chosen by the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston for
a screening in the Museum's prestigious film program. Amaranth
Productions will announce the date in the coming months.

This Fall ABSOLUTELY SAFE will begin a nationwide screening tour,
featuring panel discussions with the director and major characters in
