chest x-ray before breast surgery

Is this just routine, or is it to look for cancer? I have localized, grade 1
IDC.

Chest x-rays are often done before surgery to make sure that there is no
infection or other problem that might make anesthesia dangerous. The
radiologist would, of course, advise the surgeon if there were evidence of
metastatic disease, but that is not the primary aim of the study.

it scares me half outta my knickers, if I wore any....

"chest x-ray and liver"....this takes a LOT of getting used to....I didn't
have a chest x-ray before the lumpectomy I had last time....so......
