Default FYI Teleconference for newly diagnosed.

As someone who treats women affected by breast cancer, you know that the
year following diagnosis can be stressful. Women have many questions about
treatments, second opinions and quality-of-life issues, and there are never
enough hours in the day to address their concerns. We hope our next
education program may help you help your patients.
We would appreciate if you could let them know about our upcoming national
teleconference, Navigating Your Way: A Guide for the Newly Diagnosed , from
12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) on Friday, April 20.

Like all LBBC programs, this teleconference will be led by one of your
trusted colleagues. She will help your patients formulate questions to bring
back to your practice. Jennifer Armstrong, MD of Paoli Hematology Oncology
Associates, will provide information to guide women through the year
following a diagnosis of breast cancer. Among topics to be discussed:

.. Understanding the diagnosis, pathology report and treatment options
.. Understanding the various types of treatments available
.. Assembling and communicating with a healthcare team
.. Getting a second opinion
.. Balancing family obligations and the workplace with treatment
.. Finding support and maintaining everyday activities

As you know, Dr. Armstrong is a breast oncologist with Paoli Hematology
Oncology Associates in Paoli, Pennsylvania. She is founder and
co-facilitator of a training group for medical oncology fellows that focuses
on communication skills, and she is a member of a steering group at Memorial
Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center that works to improve physicians'
communication and cultural awareness skills. Dr. Armstrong's publications
include The Application of Herceptin in the Treatment of Metastatic Breast
Cancer in a University-Based Oncology Practice and Clinical Update: Cancer
and Treatment-related Anemia: Understanding and Interpreting the Latest
Anemia Guidelines .
Following the presentation, Dr. Armstrong will answer questions.

Help your patients register online for this free event, or encourage them to
call 610.645.4567. We also invite you and members of your staff to attend.

Many thanks for your assistance,
Jean
