supporting those with breast cancer online
This alt. group would be far better were it controlled, and the advertisers,
surveyors, and so-called periodical promoters were sent to the dungeon as
criminal opportunists!
Please note, anyone doing any human research, or "study" must present before
a legal body (usually university) and be approved, in advance. They must
present their hypothesis, and guarantee total privacy, not say they will
"protect" responders' privacy. They must state their authorizing
institution. It's the law, so ignore them until the group moderators here
start bouncing them out.
If you have breast cancer, or a loved one with breast cancer, please let us
help you, as survivors, nurses, physicians . . . you can obtain a great deal
of support at annexcafe.support.breastcancer. Once at www.anexcafe.com go to
Communities, on the far right, and Help and Support. Once there, you'll see
annexcafe.support.breastcancer.
This NG is not set up to support people with breast cancer, and must be
terminated, or changed.

Re: supporting those with breast cancer online
Please do your homework on the nature of Usenet in general and alt
groups in particular.
While Usenet is now in decline this group served a useful purpose for
many years, It was certainly a great help to me at a time of need.
I doubt there is more than a handful of readers still monitoring it.
However if you are upset by the spammers who post here, protest to their
ISP or national government. Calling for the destruction of the group is
futile, and shows misunderstanding of the distributed nature of Usenet.
Alt groups are by definition unmoderated. If you wish to found a
moderated group on this topic, you are free to do that. Usenet and its
groups cannot take any action against anyone, unlike a website it does
not represent any legal or physical entity, it is just a protocol. The
entity you think you see is an emergent property. An alt group cannot
be removed from the Internet by diktat, it can only die through lack of
postings. By posting here you help delay that event.
Your remark about human research may apply to the United States, I
wouldn't know, I'm a Brit. In this place you are talking to the world.
Different countries have different laws. If you believe a poster is
subject to and breaking your local law, you are free to prosecute them
in your country. You are also free to post here saying so or advocating
that your compatriots do likewise, subject to the constraints of your
laws, eg on libel. Writing here is generally tantamount to publishing.
