Default 3rd anniversary

hi all, haven't posted for a while, still regular lurker though :-)

Three years ago today was my RRP. Current situation is good. PSA
was .04 in Dec (up from previous <.01) but doc thinks this just a lab
anomaly (hope so anyway). Have another PSA test scheduled for April
just to check. Obviously looking forward to <.01 for long time to
come.

General health excellent, in training for my first marathon in July
(did 2 halves last year).

Still leaky when I run but no big deal. That's pretty much the only
time I wear a pad. Can't have too much to drink these days but I
guess that's a good thing, definitely have to watch control after a
few drinks.

Best wishes to all.

Dave

Hello, Dave:

I hope the news continues to be good for you. You might want to ask
your doc if his/her office changed the labs they use for the PSA
test. I think I've read on this NG that there are a couple of testing
procedures with differeing sensitivities. The 0.04 might be due to
that. And the ultra sensitive test is 'twitchy,' in that one will
occasionally get a reading that amounts to a false positive.

Indeed it could be lab "noise". I have seen on another board a man who
had ultrasensitive tests and the lab switched protocols and he did not
get the message. His doctor was "notified" of the change, though
doubtful it made it through the information maze. And when his .01
became .04 he was concerned. Another test resolved the issue to his
favor. See if the same lab and same test and protocol have been used
consistently. And keep checking.
Hope and peace
