4 Years Into Watchful Waiting -- PSA Declining

Just got my quarterly PSA results, and four years after diagnosis "active
surveillance" or "watchful waiting" still seems like a reasonable option for
me. Latest PSA is 1.28, continuing a fairly steady decline over the past 30
months. Finesteride (Proscar) appears to be suppressing DHT fairly
effectively. History is below.

Confirmed by Johns Hopkins, with Gleason 3+3

11/10 - 5.25, T/F 20%

Alex,

Have you noticed side effects from the Proscar? Any effects
on libido, weight, energy levels, etc?

Alan,

Weight and libido are unchanged. Energy level is not what it was 10 years
ago, but I didn't notice any real decline after I started taking Proscar a
few years ago.

The drug has not triggered any side effects at all, in my experience, but it
has done what I'd hoped -- a decline in PSA and a reduction in prostate
volume.
