Default AMS 800 Artificial Urinary Sphincter Operation

Saw my uro this morning and here is how the device works if you need
to deactivate it for any reason.

First you pump the device fully opened the same as you do when you
urinate.

Second, count to 20 or 25. The control device in the scrotum fills
before the cuff so at that point there is fluid in the control but not
in the cuff so the urethra is not compressed.

Three push the button on the control device in the scrotum. That will
deactivate the device. If you push the button when there is no fluid
in the control then it is very difficulte to reactivate. This morning
I had to go to my doctor to get mine turned back on.

To reactivate the device just push the bulb hard and that will return
the button to the original position and the device will again be
operational.

But my advice is to just leave the thing on all the time and not fool
with this.

Thank you. Good luck.
