Antiviral Drug On PBS Listing
A high dosage antiviral drug,
Famvir, has been newly accepted onto the
Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS). Famvir is prescribed to people with
weakened immune systems to combat viruses that cause genital herpes and
shingles. A month's supply will now cost less than $30 instead of $350.
