Default Attn: Canadians -- New PC "Kit"

Hello all,

This looks useful.

BTW, what are you Canadians up to trying to change the "national
animal"? I read about it in the Economist. It seems like someone has
chosen as a new symbol this ugly-looking, odoriferous, enlarged
version of a porcupine -- I think they call it a "wolverine". It is
affectionately known as a "skunk bear". Is there something in the
water out there?:-)

Leah

Information kit designed for prostate cancer patients

Package unique in Canada offers right information at right time to men
diagnosed with disease

ANDREA MACRAE, The Guardian

snip

On Tuesday, Fotheringham and Dr. David Morrison of the P.E.I Cancer
Treatment Centre launched an information kit for men diagnosed with
the disease.

The kit, which is unique in Canada, contains the kind of information
Fotheringham could have used when he heard the terrifying c-word.

****It contains an extensive booklet, brochures on diet, emotions,
sexuality, treatment options and spirituality.

There's also contact information for support services and a patient
passport for keeping records of test results, medical appointments and
radiation therapy.

ROFL!! No bloody way we are changing our national symbol from the
Beaver to a Wolverine.......probably Merkin propaganda, lol. At any
rate, they haven't dropped this one on the general public.

As for the prostate detection kit......I knew about it at least a year
ago. And am quite proud to say my father, et al, are PE Islanders.
That may be our smallest province, but looks like they are way ahead in
this.

Just teasing you, Ms. Leah.....but glad to see that you know we do exist
up here. And if you ever want a laid back, truly peaceful holiday, head
for the Anne of Green Gables part of PEI (Cavendish) and enjoy. We have
been back twice and also to Nova Scotia......it is like stepping back 50
years in time. Sigh........
