Default Brampton US Too Speaker......

Hi all.....

I am happy to report that I got Ron to go to the above group tomorrow
night because it is OUR oncologist (Dr. Andrew Loblaw) who is the main
speaker and the person I spoke to said when he is the speaker, their
attendance doubles!! Wow!!

Ron (and me too, for that matter) has always been reticent about
support groups and I am not expecting him to drastically change, but I
do think he just might find he likes it. He doesn't have a problem
discussing it with a select few, but is just not a *group person*.

Dr. Loblaw is both a radiation oncologist and now Director of Radiation
Oncology Research at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto. Not too shabby for
a young lad of 40 or so. He will be speaking on the "Timing of Hormones
after Treatment Failure and new RT Techniques". And it says he is
going to explain the risks, side effects and benefits of HT.

I am really looking forward to this......and glad that Ron is going. We
do have his 6 month appt. with Dr. Loblaw in two weeks and it will be
nail-biting time again. He is also going to have a bone density test
done just for the records. Dr. Loblaw never got a copy of the one he
had done out here, which was pretty good at that time.

Cheers.....Heather

Aint it a hoot? I waltzed into my uro's office yesterday and into the
phlebotomist this morning without a care in the world. Now, suddenly, I'm
thinking about the results.

Yep.....would you believe that I never got apprehensive re his PSA
numbers until the last year?? And he was at 0.19 last August. If I
think of it, I will ask the good doctor tonight how high he lets it go
before putting someone back on HT.

Good luck on yours.....I knew you were due.

Mother.....grin.

DAMMIT!! We got dumped on again with 20 cm of snow and the highway from
Toronto out to Brampton (my town) was so bogged down that Dr. Loblaw
phoned and he couldn't make it. Don't blame him.

And Ron said he was really looking forward to hearing him. Doubt that
he will go to US TOO meetings unless it is Andrew speaking.

Sigh......Blizzarded in Brampton.

Our 5-9 inches (13-23 cm) never came to fruition. Got a couple of inches (5
cm) and then nothing but ice. Even I had to cut it back to 55 MPH (88 KPH)
on the way to my blood 6 a.m. (6 a.m.) blood draw, 10:30 a.m. (10:30 a.m.)
internist appointment, and by bride's (woman's) 1 p.m. (1 p.m.) physical
therapy.
