Default Can't get rid of infection

Hi,

I had a prostrate infection many years ago and had fever and PSA was 69.5 or
so. After antibiotics, it came down to 20 and after many years to 6.

Two biopsies proved negative to Cancer. These were taken many years apart.

Now, I am still having infection and some times doctor prescribes
anti-biotics but he stresses drink plenty of water to wash clear the
infection. Water does help but it creeps up again.

Now, I am on 500mg of Ciprofloxacin one twice a day for 10 days. It is
getting almost 7 days and I am still feeling feverish. I feel better.
Couple of days ago, I happen to make water in a trough at a Pub and found
that the first few say 20 to 30 ml was milky and then clear as normal.
Today, I told my doctor and he says it is definitely an infection and not a
Cancer. That was a relief and he has extended the Cipro course for another
ten days.

I hear Cipro makes your muscles weak especially the Ecclie muscle of the
heel. Is it true? I play Tennis and go to Gym as well. Do allotment
digging too. I am 74 years old.

Any suggestion.

Realize that not all prostatic infections are bacterial in nature.
Antibiotics will not be of use if the infection is viral in nature,
but they are worth a try...ron

Prostate infection can last many years, simply lying dormant between
symptomatic outbreaks or recurring often for multiple reasons. Cipro
suppresses it, but doesn't always kill it off even if bacterial. I'd
start Googling such phrases as persistent chronic prostate infection
prostatitis. It seems to be a common problem, with several causes and
treatments.
