catheter lubricant

I'm using ky, but that shit dries and becomes sandpaper. Are there
any other lubricants I can use which won't degrade the catheter
material, yet won't "turn on me".

I've got some Polysporin, but have been told not to use any petroleum
or mineral oil derived products. I think Polysporin has petrolatum in
it. Maybe Neosporin too.

I don't think so, according to the Canadian Polysporin tube I have.
Neosporin is not available over the counter up here. I shall check via
Google.

AHA.....yes, you are right. Petrolatum AND mineral oil are in the base

Silly as this may sound, my dermatologist once recommended using Crisco
(lard), preferably out of the fridge. Pure vegetable oil and nice and
cool. Worth a shot, I should think. Worked for me. And no details
will be provided, lol.

You could phone your pharmacist as well. I am assuming it is a holiday
Monday in the US like here, though. (Queen Victoria's birthday here)

My doctor recommended cleaning the tip of the penis twice daily with a baby
wipe and then applying Neosporin + Pain Relief while the catheter was in. I
looked at what's left of my tube of ointment and it does have a petrolatum
base. I used it for the 19 days I had to wear the damn thing and the
catheter held up fine.

Did your hospital give you a phone number for routine questions? Maybe give
them a call.

If you don't want to risk one of the antibiotic ointments, I think
Heather's suggestion of a vegetable oil (whether solidified like
Crisco or just liquid) would work well, too.

double antibiotic creme.....it will still cake up and be a nuisance, but
will work.
you need to wash the area with hot soap and water.....
