Woke up early and went to collect an RX from the Pharmacy - about 1/2 hour
away through the park.

On the way back - need to digress a moment - - -
Recently a group of youths on Bicycles have been creeping up on senior
citizens & people with walking sticks/crutches.
They SCREAM as they pass the victim at high speed - resulting in mostly
fall-overs and terrified yelps.
This is a public park. No-one has been arrested or cautioned (Yet) Luckilly
no senior has had a heart attack.

I was blithely walking back to my house through the park and THOUGHT I heard
someone coming behind - I stood back to let them pass - I'm on a crutch
since I broke my Big Toe last weekend? - so - the Perp screamed too early -
his pals at the other end of the park egging him on - I could hear all the
encouragements but didn't relate them to anything at that point...and I
naturally turned swiftly enough - my crutch went through the spokes of his
front wheel and was ripped out of my hands.
The perp - at LEAST 18-19 years of age - landed MOST satisfactorilly on the
Tarmac path and had lots of damage done to his face - bleeding a lot and
actually crying like a two year old.
I was MAD enough and before his pals got there, to lever the chain out with
the regained crutch and bust it, then rip the wiring out of the gears ands
brakes - and my GOOD foot bashed through the back wheel to destroy a few
more spokes.

One of the boys - about 19-20 year old - squared up to me with the usual
'youll be sorry' crap. I was SO bloody angry, I started swinging the stick
and caught a few of them round the head and neck. The girls with them - all
teenie screamers -already disappearing with the realisation that I was a
wrongly estimated target -the rest of the swagger-lads simply melted away.

I was as angry as I have ever been. To have gone through as much as I have
and then have arsehole shitbags from my own neighbourhood try to do
something like that to ME! I reckon I took it just TOO personally. But it
maddens me nonethelsess.

It was witnessed by others in the park and I got some applause - one guy who
lives in the square brought me out a cup of tea. Cops were called, but all
that was said were 'smileys' and I was warned not to spend time destroying
bicycles.

Quite a nice day - otherwise.
I think the punks got the message. "Don't Fuck wae Shuggie!

This was suppose to be about a recipe - but too late now. It was Fresh
PACIFIC Salmon - and I'm a greedy bastard!
Goodnight! - hey - I managed to turn off the heating in the Hall. Quite mild
this weekend.

ALSO bought a new Shell-Suit Tracky for fishing. - If that's NOT
optimism - what the Fuck is?
Awayyyy....
Hughie.

Aren't opportunities like that *highlights* in the war against
miscreants? I still get animated and vigorous about a similar event on a
ski slope almost 40 years ago, and I am *certain* the perpetrator
relives it in his mind at least once a week . . . presuming he survived.
I commented just yesterday to my wife that I felt uncharacteristically
vulnerable hobbling down the street with a recent leg injury, but hadn't
thought about carrying a club . . . er, a hefty oak cane . . . to help
with both issues.

A friend was in your shoes years ago when bicycle muggers were snatching
purses at speed, injuring several women. Thayne heard one coming from
behind, stepped across his wife, turned just in time to grab the thief's
outstretched forearm, and used his strength (big, young athlete) to
virtually unscrew the jerk's arm at the shoulder. He said the sound
effects were both rewarding and memorable, as were mine in the ski
incident.

There are lots of ways to teach manners.

Good for you Hughie. Those arseholes deserved every bit of what they
got and more. You can't imagine how many of these punks I've beat up,
killed, maimed, castrated, skewered, and boiled in oil. Of course,
this is only what I think I would do if I were ever in such a
situation. Realistically, under heat of fire, I don't know what my
response would be. It's good to see some of these jack-offs get a
good clobber though.

Remember the thread that included lucid dreaming a couple of weeks ago?
*That's* where any or all of us get to beat up on such schmucks. When a
dream involves gang bangers, bullies, or criminals intimidating or
harming me or mine, I usually wake up juuuuuust enough to control the
rest of the dream. MAN, can I kick some ass when I'm invincible,
omniscient, ubiquitous, polymorphic, fire-breathing, invisible, and pissed.

Carrying a toxic diaper doesn't hurt, either.

Those fade from memory before breakfast, but real such events appear to
stay fresh on our minds forever. To think that Hughie's victory was
achieved by an old fart on crutches is even more rewarding and encouraging.

It WAS personal, to the extent Hughie was considered by those scum to be
anything more than an object of ridicule and sadistic pleasure.

Good on you!

And to hell with warnings from the POlice about self-defence. Do what
you must, then fade into the background if you can... No need for the
paperwork if it can be avoided ;-)

Good for you.

Funny. UK, right?

I knew that the pig farmer had killed the delicious meal with his .45
because his 1911A1 was in a holster hanging from a tree near the
axe. There was a board with the pig's feet still on them.

Fresh pork.

Don't know why I.P. is frightened of rich, greasy, roast pork. I had
some tenderloin. It was pull-apart soft. Later I sampled another
part, the propane flames had crispened the fat. Not quite as tender
but the flavor was rich and intense.

That pig had been fed table scraps on a small private farm.

No roast pork dinner at any big city restaurant could ever compare to
that one.

Good for you.

Imagining what you would do is the first part of preparation to defend
yourself and, more importantly, those others who depend on you. Violence
will occur on this Earth for as long as and in every place that evil does.
It is imprudent not to concern yourself with it and to not plan for what you
would do when it visits. When that happens, a crutch is a fine choice for
evening the disparity of age.

You didn't miss anything Mate!
I was born 23d July 1951.

My method is that I was already human after Dad's wee squiggly had a bit of
fun with Mum's egg.
So - and it's very abstract thinking - I'm really 56, (but actually 55)
Common sense REALLY says I'll not be 56 until 23/07/07 hope that doesn't
confound overmuch...
I just say 2007? - I must be 56 then! - or is that reverse-ageism?
In any case - I'd like to be as old as I can be before - you know... -
Moving on, as it were.

Which renders the U.S. Congress's present four-day round of purely
political speeches at the taxpeyers' expense all the more revolting and
suicidal. Their masturbatory preening is achieving first and foremost
one thing: encouraging the enemy. These jerkoffs are endangering the
entire non-Muslim world, no matter which side of the political fence it
sits on. I hope many of you will write your congressmen and demand they
unite behind our troops rather than undermine and betray them. This
isn't about posturing politicians; it's about the credibility of the
free world, your children's safety, and the future of civilization.

Well, since you started this discussion I will add my 2 cents.

This is my epigram for the Bush "Legacy":

"Never * in * the * history *of * human * conflict, * have * so * few
* done * so * much harm * to * so * many."

Unfortunately.

I hope that I end up being wrong. And I am most certainly rooting
for the president's latest plan to work. And most of all I support
our troops. In fact, a close friend of my husband's from childhood
just got back from doing several tours of duty in Iraq.

Now, in saying the above, I speak for my husband and myself, and
obviously we have the right to express our opinions about this. A lot
of people have sacrificed their lives so that we may have the right to
free speech. And. IMO, my husband, especially, is entitled to be
heard because he takes his civic duties very seriously. He always
votes, even if the election is about something minor. And last week,
he informed me that he been summoned for jury duty. A few days later,
he was chosen to sit on a rape case. It could have gone of forever...

So I said to him, "Now, what have you done! You could have gotten out
of jury duty by simply telling them you have cancer! The wouldn't
have asked you any questions."

Well, he said he had not regrets. He has served as a juror several
times before, and I am proud of him. Don't tell me we're not good
citizens or patriotic Americans.

Yes. Violence may also occur wherever immaturity, injustice and mental
illness occur.

In Hughie's case, assuming you have discounted evil, those ruffians were
immature, at best. Trying to best a 6'4", 19 Stone man might have been
mental illness. The end result was justice.

Absolutely. And to think that in most U.S. states, Hughie would have
been arrested and prosecuted for aggravated assault with a deadly
weapon. Seriously.

I'm surprised you weren't asked to press charges. Under US law, which
is based on English common law, a criminal "assault" is defined as
intentionally putting another person in fear of an "imminent battery",
or an unwanted touching. So in other words, scaring somebody without
actually touching them would qualify. And using an instrument such as
a bicycle would be the same thing as using your hands or a weapon.

I'm surprised these hoodlums weren't punished more severely.
Especially if they had been preying on a vulnerable population, you'd
think the police would have wanted to give them more than just a slap
on the wrist, you know to put them out of business.

Also, you're lucky you didn't injure them worse than you did, even if
they were the ones who started up with you. Because probably you
would have been the one to end up in jail.

I think you're being much too charitable. A lot of people commit
violent acts simply because they feel like doing so, even though they
know it's wrong, and not because they're helpless in the face of some
biological or social imperative. But that's not the same as saying
those people are intrinsically evil. People make mistakes.

It's not unusual to have people who've done bad things, ordinary folks
and even criminals, sincerely regret their behavior afterwards.
That's because they're perfectly capable of realizing that what what
they had done was morally wrong.

Top post - being lazy tonight -
Shuggie is now 16 Stone 13 Lbs.
Have to try to remedy that - looked in the mirror this morning after the
shower as I got ready for Church and shuddered at my shape today. Belt on my
jeans in by two - three notches. Bloody Hell!
Would be amusing and pleasing in other circumstances.
Jesus H! - Come on PAL! - answer at least one of my prayers! (But that's
selfish and a hubris)
Think it's all lack of appetite - cook something real nice and then sit and
look at it before it goes in the bin or down the toilet. Sometimes feeling
nauseous just looking at food.
Then - the killer .45 shot - go out for a walk and smell in the air - junk
fast food.
Shit shit shit.
I threw out a gorgeous breakfast this morning of grilled chicken sausages,
REAL bacon and a terrific spicy Chilli Black Pudding (Blood Sausage) that
usually I can't wolf down quickly enough.
(At Church, now suggested that I join the the Baritone section - can't hit
the bottom notes as easily? Is that caused by these fucken hormone drugs?)
I've always been real proud of my Basso-Profundo singing voice. I once did a
concert with Ivan Rebroff in 1969 at the Kelvin Galleries in Glasgow- just
18 years old and I could hit even his remarkable lower registers - but not
with the power he had though. Always envied his lung power! What a singer!
....

I later bought a burger coming home from Church.
Some example I am.
But this afternoon, took the wee Tiger out for a walk on his leash. Nearly
eight miles and I only had to pick him up once for a few seconds. Felt great
in the sunshine and fresh air.
Who is a good little Tiger then? Gimmee a Cuddle!- **Swipe** - OOyah! (Wee
bastard!)
Anyway - got a few guys and a couppla girls coming round for a few hands at
Poker tonight. It's for pennies and I made a pot of a traditional Scottish
meal called "Stovies" - it consists of nothing more than a shebang of sliced
potatoes and an equal amount of sliced onions, some salt & pepper - no fats
or water - just papped into a casserole dish and into a fairly low temp oven
till it's all gone very mushy. Some folk throw in some bits of fatty beef,
Beef Mince (ground beef) or bits of chicken - leftover meats - whatever, but
I'm doing it "Proper" tonight. Usually you have a glass of Buttermilk with
it all (served in a big bowl) but I'm not on milk now - and don't REALLY
fancy Stovies with Pom Juice....YUK!
"Stovies" are great comfort food and perfect at soaking up beer! (Burp-time
tonight!)
Cheers!
HUGHIE.

TOP posting again -

NONE of the fucks who have been doing this on a continual basis has ever
been caught -when fingers are pointed - the perps have alibis - backed up by
liars unafraid of perjury. Cops know that once in court, a case HAS to be
completely watertight - and most Scots in a Jury trial tend to be initially
biased in favour of the defendant - EXCEPT in cases involving Child abuse or
where the Procurator Fiscal has a definite PROOF in a Murder case.
Cases like this - brought to Court in Scotland, are treated almost like a
joke and the Perp walks free with a big grin on it's face. (Notice the use
of 'IT' rather than a he or she - they are just eactly that - they are -
ITS. That is - not real humans with human feeliongs and reactions. The FACT
that they have been in Court and discharged is worn like a badge of honour
in many idiot gangs.
The fact that what happened the other day was WITNESSED by local residents,
applause, cups of tea offered - cops called - me being advised to stop
wrecking bicycles and all treated as a hee-haw "Serve the fuckers well'
episode - is simply a reflection of what Scottish Cops are best at - avoid
the simple incidents that would result in some Punk getting a 'Badge of
Honour' if brought to Court - (When a well administered out of sight SLAP
{or similar} has a more satisfactory result in the long term and may deter
future acts of a similar nature.
I WAS asked if I'd like to press charges - but without a NAME - Pointless.
The very fact that I was surprised and turned round quickly - to lose
control of my stick that was an essential part of my balance and : to
someone intent on disrupting that equilibrium - to the very machine that was
a Perp-propelled part of his intended attack on me, it could NEVER in ANY
point of Law, be construed as ME making mischievous harm.
CONCLUSION?

I have NO objectioin to these little immature and un-thinking arses picking
on ME rather than their traditional targets of old ladies and older guys
with sticks. I'm frightrened by very little and certainly NOT by idiots with
nothingn else to do with their time than try to scare vulnerable people - Of
which - I'm not.
I may very well try start to attempt attracting the shits and set my OWN
Justice.
As far as I'm concerned - OBLITERATE the uncaring fucks.
Their parents too - when they start bleating.

Yes - call me Hitler version 2 if you like.
I DONT giveashit!
Hughie.

Exactly why you have hoodlums in the park preying on perceived cripples.

I know that's what the media seem to portray. But, in Cincinnati this past
year, we had an unusual number of people protecting themselves and if my
recollection is accurate, 6 to 9 were not charged due with a finding of
justifiable homicide. Of course, one would have to tally the individual
reports because the local rag and tongue waggers did not focus on it.
Instead, they preferred to discuss the 88 criminal homicides we experienced
during the year.
