| | | Hey Dwight Dwight,
How's that going without pads working out for you?
I have $20 worth of Depends and absorbent underpants
ready to donate to my surgeon at my post-op session
since his catheter lady had to go looking for a diaper
because I didn't bring one on toob-out day.
Even so, I'm not quite ready to go without a maxi-pad
just yet. Always dry, never stinky, but...

I started wearing them again. Just a couple of little squirts during
the day when I would stand up and such, but I decided to go back until
things clear up a little better. It was just annoying. I found
myself going into the bathroom and stuffing paper towels into my
shorts. It was probably nothing more than 1/4 tsp volume, total. But
I tend to wear the same pair of jeans for a while, and I didn't want
to end up turning heads/noses in the office when I walked by.

What is the complete brand name of what you're using? |

you to know this.
You are SO eary in this thing that your progress seems wonderful.
Do the Kegels, and wear a pad if you feel like it.
All the pads have a 'smell barrier'...not a scent...but layers that take
your teaspoon of urine and bury it.
You seem to be doing so well...just hang in there.
Change when you feel ready.
You're WAY ahead of a LOT of folks.

I just use the store brand maxi-pad that women use. Just
narrow things that once in place, pasted into skivvies,
you don't even know they are there. Peel strip and paste
in. Most recent, CVS house brand. No "wings" on sides.
Wings are nuisance and must be cut off with scissors. I
use just one a day and never get an odor (that I smell,
anyway). Sleep with a towel between legs at night or
napping. |

I was right there on time. Early, in fact. Just in case
they could slip me in beforehand. They did.
My cousin drove me up, in case... and he was amazed at

Menstrual pads -- and certainly towels -- are not designed to manage
urine. One author, I think it was Walsh, advised against using anything
except urinary incontinence pads for urinary incontinence if we care
about little things like smell and skin irritation.

Wull golly, I.P. - It isn't like I don't wash the towel
on occasion. :-)
If I had any problems, I'd certainly alter the way I do
things. Incontinence, smell and skin irritation are not
problems I have now. (I guess I lucked out and my guy
did a good job while he was in there.) I joke and say
"as far as I know", but believe me, I monitor this stuff
closely. On the other hand, I don't recommend anyone do
anything that doesn't do the job for him. |

You know, I have those, and I prefer the Depends instead. At first,
when I was leaking a lot, the Depends were not adequate. I had
leaking over the side. I tried the Serenity. It was ok, but I found
that, because they seem to be thinner, they will wad together easier
between my legs, leaving a narrower area to catch the urine. The
Depends seem to keep their width better, and I'm back to using those
more now. I think they both have their use though. |

I do use Depends when I'm golfing or helping people move furniture, et al. |

This bout with cancer has shown me the deeper meaning to life,
therefore, I will never help people move furniture again. Life is too
short. ;-)
But, perhaps this is a left-over from when I owned a truck. |

will.

I did that for the first week or so, but nobody said I
smelled, like urine anyway, so I just go about my
business without a care in the woild. Two people said I
have the aroma of old barnacles, which if true, would
far overplay any random pee drippings. Changed my socks
more than once a week and that went away.
One can be "gamey" without smelling like urine. Just
pick your odor and go with it.

Do you have some of those chrome plated testicles hanging from the

Not ban... they want to TAX them. You can have a set on
your bumper or trailer hitch, but you'll have to
register them and pay a fee. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
