Conclusions Efficacy data does not allow meaningful assessment as to the
benefit – risk ratio of HIFU treatment. HIFU cannot currently be
recommended as standard therapy but could be further explored in
ERB-monitored phase 1-2 studies. This will require full informed consent
as to the nature of the evidence, toxicity and alternative options.
