Default Kegels - How Long?

I'm curious as to how long you do Kegels for. I'm 4 weeks post op, and
am continent in the day and at night (mainly because I wake up to hit
the head). I've been doing Kegels since the day after the catheter
came out. I'm doing 15 sets of 5 reps a day.

My uro says forever, unless you're dry without them.

It's weird. Most days I'm completely dry now, but every odd day I seem
to suffer an episode where a few drops leak because I just couldn't
realize it or stop myself. I have a desk job and I wonder if it is the
inordinate amount of sitting I do...

At night, I wear the pad as a psychological crutch because, I'm such a
light sleeper that the slightest urge wakes me. I'd actually get a
good night's sleep if I didn't have to get up to hit the head....

You have to count from the day the cat is out and not op.
So - what have we 2 weeks? Give it time - come down

Lessee . . . 1,025 days vs 1,011 days . . . OK, now I feel better. ;-)

I agree with I.P....forever.

Even IF you're dry.

If you're dry...you needn't be strident about them.

Just squeeze from time to time, and stop your stream occasionally.

I'm 1.5 years post op, and haven't done the exercises in about a year.. At
first I had much more than the normal amount of incontinence. I did the
Kegels religiously and was very frustrated. The improvement came not
gradually, but in sudden plateaus. After about 4 months I was dry day and
night. Now the only time I wear a pad is if I expect to be playing on the
floor with my grandchildren. Something about having my feet on the same
plane as my butt causes me to lose a few drops on very rare occasions.
Similar situation if I sit Indian style with my legs crossed and my ankles
tucked under my butt.

At four weeks I was drowning in pee and wanted to die. Hang in there, it
gets better.
