Default Linguistic Precision: The Oncologist Commentary

Is poor use of language a risk when attempting to communicate?

Seemed to highlight the usage of the word "fail".

One of my friends forgot to vote at a compulsory election and was read
a charge that he "failed" to vote and was subject to a fine.

Without legal representation, he asked the magistrate that as he
didn't even TRY to vote, so how could he FAIL?

He won!
