Means of Relieving Biopsy Pain

See, Hirsh I. et al., "Tramadol improves patients' tolerance of
transrectal ultrasound-guided prostate biopsy." Urology. 2007
Mar;69(3):491-4. Pub Med ID 17382151.

Their conclusion: "The combination of lidocaine per rectum with tramadol
per os is a simple and safe technique providing good analgesic effect
and, therefore, can be recommended for transrectal ultrasound-guided
prostate biopsy."

BTW, "per os" means "orally". Why the authors didn't *say* "orally"
instead of showing off I don't know.

man, they knocked me out for my biopsy.
The doctor told me how many samples they were planning on taking, and I
said " unconscious, I want to be unconscios, then you can take as meny
pokes as you want."

I was talking to my wife, the nurse came in and said, as she injected
into the iv line " this is the small hammer, and this is the big hammer."

the next I knew, I was talking to my wife, and she was saying "How do
you feel?"
I said "Why?"

She said "It's over."


Never felt a thing.
