Default Meds Used for DaVinci

For those interested in such pedantic things, the following is a list
of meds I received for a DaVinci prostatectomy 3 weeks ago. I think
they are in order, from admission to discharge. Not sure if they are
typical, but it might give an idea of what to expect. BTW...the total
charged to the ins. co. was $15800.

Glycopyrrola
Neostigmine
Midazolam (Versed)
Propofol
Hydromorphone (Dilaudid)
Fentanyl
Rocuronium
Cefoxitin
Ketorolac
Morphine
Meperidine (Demerol)
Hydromorphone
Metoclopramine (Reglan)
Hydromorphone
Cefoxitin
Ketorolac
Pantoprozole (Protonix)
Acet/Hydrocodone
Metoclopramine
Cefoxitin
Acet/Hydrocodone (Vicodin)

Bloody hell, when are the Americans going to realise that healthcare
shouldn't depend on income like the civilised world has. Economically the
cost of early deaths and ill health caused by inadequate health care is a
drag on any economy so its not about "socialist systems",it just makes moral
and economic sense

I am assuming this is just the hospital charge or is that just for the
drugs? Surely not. There will also be surgeon, anesthesia pathologist
and who knows what else. My husband is scheduled November 6th and we
are wating for verification from insurance as to our part. I am
assuming the hospital will want their money up front or at least a
hefty part of it. I am very thankful we have insurance and I my heart
goes out to people who do not. It does not seem right.

This was just the hospital charges. I have yet to see the Dr. bills. I
got approval/verification from the ins. co. prior and the hospital did
not ask for anything.
