    Default Siberian rhubarb-hot flashes

Dr. Oz recommended Siberian Rhubarb (Estrovera) for hot flashes caused
by menopause. Any comments about using this for hot flashes due to
    hormone therapy?

If it's anecdotal info you want, instead of medical opinions, here's one

    Comment:
I have been taking a product called Estrovera for menopausal symptoms.
It immediately stopped hot flashes, racing heart, and mild anxiety
issues as well as improved acid reflux (unrelated to menopause but a
nice bonus) and seemed to improve my hair! I thought it was a miracle
except for some mild constipation, until I nearly passed out from a
deep, dizzying ache in my kidneys. I looked up the side effects, and
Estrovera claims none. So I looked up Rhubarb and found that you
shouldn't take it longer than 8 days and it has been known to cause
kidney damage and kidney failure, as well as severe loss of
electrolytes. I am terrified of it now. I stopped taking it today and am
    thinking about calling the doctor.

My additional comment: she's nearly passing out from kidney pain, it can
cause kidney failure, and she's THINKING about calling a doctor?
