Default Sticker Shock

Went and filled a prescription for Viagra today. Total was $80.
Insurance covered $20. I paid $60. FOR 5 TABLETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What the fuck?

After surgery, when I'm supposed to be using this stuff daily to make
the nerves work, how the hell do they expect you to afford this?

Is there some trick to the system I'm supposed to work?

I do believe you got *ripped* pricewise. I thought they were about $10
each.

A number of the guys cut them into bits and use smaller amounts
(quarters, one-sixth, etc). OTOH, how close are you to our border??
(eg). Our drugs are usually cheaper, even when they are manufactured in
the US of A.

Cheers, Heather

I need the full 100mg to be effective right now.

Not close enough. I'm in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Is there some reputable online source, where I won't be getting cat
litter dyed blue?

Awhile back the full price was just under $19 per price. $80 for 5
pills comes to $16 per pill.

Also, I'venever heard of insurance covering so little of the cost.
Either they don't cover it at all or they charge some thing $30 for a
full prescription, often without reference to the number of pills.

What insurance are you using, and where are you buying the Viagra. It
certainly sounds strange.

If you are taking it to encourage the return of erections, you can
probably get by with well less than the full dose.

Except for suggesting that you find another insurance plan, I don't
have much else to suggest.

In case you haven't noticed, we don't make any retense of equal access
to medicine in this country. I believe Congress even forbade any
Medicare Part D Plan from paying for Viagra or something stupid like
that. As long as we keep electing people who keep pandering to the
"moral majority", we are going to see this soft of nonsense.

United Health Care, Long's Drugs.

Right now is pre-surgery. I'm taking it to be with my lady, who
actually doesn't care whether I can or not.

I can probably get a better price with a mail order 3 month supply
through my insurance company.

Dwight, based on my experiences, get a script for 100 mg. Use a pill cutter.
All you will need is 12.5 mg every other day. The whole purpose is to force
capillaries to maintain their integrity.

Thanks. I thought it was also to make the nerves retain their
"nerveness".

Sounds like a waste of money to me Dwight. 100mg pills cut in 1/2 or
even 1/3's will most likely do the same for you. Why not experiment? Many
Canadian suppliers online, easily Googled. Read the testimonials to make
your own decision. Or you can take Cialis every other day or less, for 36
hours of useage. Of course watch out for those dreaded longer than 4 hour
erections.

Ha! Still waiting for the four hour - or any fraction of an hour
erection 7 months post op.

I also have United Healthcare and they will not pay a red cent toward
my $200 per month Cialis bill. (12 pills). I ran out yesterday and am
considering giving up on this particular pill. Any advice from the
penis gallery?

Hi fellow sufferer
You may consider talking to your healthcare provider about the injecteables
like tri-mix, bi-mix ect.
Good Luck,
John

Cheaper, better? How long should I stick with the program of oral
medication ? It has been 7 months and the earliest I should expect any
action is right around now (according to the evidence I have seen 6
months to 2 years).

El Woody:

I for one don't subscribe to the theory of penile therapy before or after
surgery with Viagra et al. But I for one can't get an erection with or
without oral drugs two years post surgery.

But bimix does a decent job for me. A $10 perscription (Kaiser Permanente)
lasts a couple of dozen times. Try it. It sounds difficult but it is
actually easy to use and the effect is almost instantaneous- 5 minutes or so
and lasts almost an hour.
