    Default Update for Steve

Top of the evening Steve and all,

I just completed annual exam at Emory Atlanta. Surgery 08/99. My PSA is 0.1
and has been consistent for 3 years now.

I turned 62 this month and seem to be in good health, if I had taken better
care of myself when younger - yada yada.... however I am still kicking.

    Grandson turns sixteen next week.

    I wish all the best.

Don't give up. The only group whose conditioning improves more rapidly
than octogenarian exercise newbies is nanagenarian exercise newbies. But
you don't have to wait; even kids like you can improve your health,
vigor, QOL, outlook, and lifespan significantly by finding some hard
work or play worth those goals. I've seen kids older than you take up
windsurfing and kitesurfing, and one well-tested and very quick
improvement in those 90-somethings is in weight-lifting.

That sounds very good, but a little confusing. Was your PSA less than
0.1 between 1999 and 2009, then climbed to 0.1 in 2010 and stayed there
    in 2011 and 2012?

Or maybe Emory Atlanta just uses 0.1 as the lowest number their lab reports?

Yeah, I hear you. If only I had studied those textbooks I bought. If
only I had practiced that musical instrument. If only ... sigh.

It's funny how much easier it is to take a relaxed attitude with
grandchildren than children. Maybe it's because we don't have to deal
much with the difficulties. Or maybe, in our old age, we develop a
    greater appreciation of youth.

    and to you.

    I can hear I.P. now. He's saying:

Don't give up. You can still read those textbooks. You can still
practice that instrument. If you live ten more years you don't have to
say "If only I had ... when I was 65."

    And of course he's right.
