Default Uro Visit

Well, I went to the doc today. Got my consult, finger wave, and shot in the
butt.

Together we decided based on my ancestry, history, and age, IADT is not a
safe option for me. And, assuming the definitive research is not completed
before IADT is a moot issue with me (because I will have already graduated
to chemo), I will likely never have a drug holiday. Bummer.

I get my PSA pull tomorrow.

Steve,
I certainly agree with your decision that intermittent is not a good choice
for you. I have had very good luck with IADT, but the docs think I take too
much risk with it. I am now about seven weeks back on ADT and the joint
pain is already returning. It is one of the worst things as it makes
activity difficult. Oh well, stock up on aspirin.

Glad the ADT is still working for you. Hope the new PSA is consistent with
the past.

Later,
Dale P

Bummer indeed.

I think it well to make sure that everyone understands that IADT
(Intermittent Androgen Deprivation Therapy) is *not* curative, nor is it
intended to be.

It is resorted to when appropriate: undetectable PSAs, and I mean the
real thing: =/< 0.05 ng/mL, for at least a year on ADT, preferably ADT3.

Then can start the holiday. This is solely for relief from whatever SEs
are still an issue for the patient. Again: it is *not* curative; it's
for the convenience of the patient.

Regards,

Steve J
