The status is sometimes confusing. I was a
Senior Chief (E-8) in USNR.

I was also with the fire department 13 years
following 10 years with the PD. Simply switched
uniforms and badges within the same city. <g>

the moniker "chief" throughout.

Earned it in both organizations. <g> Left the FD on
disability in 1988.
