Hi:
I have stage 4 cancer, And live with extreme pain caused from a number of
things. we believe most of iy is caused from all the scar tissue I have
grown from my muliple surgeries. I live on an average of 750Mg a day. But in
the near future I will have implanted inside of me a medtronic infusion pump
puutting morphine or another pain medication directly into my spinal column.
Mr Dr. Beleives this will reduce nearly 90% of my pain. The ballance will be
a few 30 Mg MS Ir's a day. Instead of a multitude of pain pills daily.

As for my type of cancer Andrenocarcinema of the rectum 1.5 cm from my annus
is quite rare. Most people in their 60-70's get this. not some one who was
38 at diagnosis. Here I am now at 40 Yrs old less than 10 % of the people
with this type of cancer ever get into remission. However if I leave
remission the odds are terrible to return to remission. This is my only shot
at remission. I have to wait 5 yrs of testing. after which I'll be
considered cancer free. YEAH!!

Living with this cancer is not fun. My wife and I have been battaling this
monster for over 17 months. The bad thing is I was Dx'd (diagnosed) 6
months after we got married. Plus her mom died of breast cancer some 15 yrs
before we met. As of today I have spent 149 days in the hospital have had 4
surgeries. And I'm looking at at least 1 more surgery and another 6-10 days
in the hospital for this infussion pump later this year.

I lost my job becasue of the cancer. Lost 57 lbs of weight initially got
most of it back. I weighed 212lbs. now 187lbs. I lost 1.5" inches in height.
Probaly the radiation to my lower spine. Have had 3rounds of chemo. Will be
starting my 4th round of chemo shortly. This is known as maintenance chemo
to keep you in remission. So I have chemo 1 day a week. Be sick for 10 days
and have 4 weeks to get over it and then start all over again.

My wife Nasira has been my life saver, my cheer leader, my life ruing in a
storm, She has helped me immensely. Most other women would have left this
dire situation. And sad to say alot leave their spouse over this. The spouse
lives with a lot of depression. She's scarred and mad at the disease. That
is when I'm rolling on the flooor in agony from the pain. I can be on my
daily 6 hr dose of 120 Mg long Acting Morphine dose when the pain is at it's
worst. Then I'll take anywhere from 30-90Mg fast acting morphine to try and
overpower the pain but still the pain persists and I lay on the floor in
such agony that I have her cdring for me and yelling at God. I keep telling
her not to blame Gof for this. God does not create illness and this kind of
pain. He brings peace and relief from the pain. if it weren't for the love
of my wife ( WOULD NOT BE HERE TYPING THIS LETTER TO ALL OF YOU ) stop
yellling now.

Forgive for babbling the past few days I haven' slept well. My eyes are out
of focus and my spelling is probably just as bad. If anyone has any question
they would like to ask. Ask I will answer them to the best of my abbility.
Pertaining to the type of cancer I have.

P.S. I'm using a friends laptop I have been working on this weekend
reloading it's OS and adding ram. My wife is using the other system. Frank

Hi Frank
thanks for the insight. That which doesn't kill you often makes you stronger.
Whats your take on healthy foods and other things?
Have you ever read my posts about health and my assertions that one of the
greatest evils of modern man besides bad habits like smokin is when people
are exposed to bad air quality? Good luck to you

Frank, I'm sure your doctor is right about the pump fixing the pain.
This is probably a silly question but with your type of cancer neuropathic
(nerve) pain is often a problem. Did they try you on any meds
(anti-epileptics) specifically for this type of pain? I'm sure they would
have.
