Default CANCER SURVIVAL EVENT THIS SATURDAY 6/16

"The Big C" Program Celebrates Cancer Survival,
Hope Through Artists' Stories, Performances

Musicians, dancers, poets and other artists, who have survived cancer,
are currently dealing with the disease or have loved ones with cancer,
will perform in a unique cancer awareness program called "The Big C,"
beginning at noon, June 16 at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center,
1300 N. Vermont Ave.

Offering hope in facing the fear of cancer, the performers will
present artistic expressions of their personal stories in dealing with
the disease. Admission is free and the program also will feature a
free catered reception, a variety of cancer information booths and
free parking.

Having artists express their cancer experiences in performances such
as songs, dances, poetry-readings and monologues is the brainchild of
actor and producer Christian Jon Meoli, who established The Big C
Foundation in 2005 after his mother died of the disease.

Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center offers a wide range of cancer
treatment services including the largest cancer screening program for
uninsured women in California. For more information about "The Big C,"
call 323-913-4570.

and survival

Where: Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center
1300 North Vermont Avenue

When: Saturday, June 16, beginning at noon
