Relative in Germany had bladder cancer. Was told that the scrapings
and washes (a Chemo wash) worked and there was no longer a sign of
cancer cells in the bladder. Now, a couple of years later, extreme
pain. "Hausarzt" -( PC, I guess, but he never goes to hospital) was
coming 3 or 4 times a day to give injections for pain. Could not find
a reason for the pain. Then another MD inserted a Port. At that time
it was discovered that the CA had spread to the lung. Subsequently
had a scan....CA is in lung, abdomen and bones. Sent to hospital for
more tests and course of treatment. They have prescribed Cisplatin "a
weak cisplatin" as palliative. I am not sure I understand this. I
see that Cisplatin is used for advanced bladder cancer. Will it also
effect the pain which I would assume is from the bone metastesis? I
do know the MD there told his family "maybe a few months."
