| | | Good News I saw my RO today and everything is looking fine. I have to come back in
December for a CT, chest x-ray and blood work then, if all's well, I
won't have to see him but once a year.
He did scope my nose to look into my throat but he gave me a double
dose of spray so it didn't hurt until several hours later <g>
He must have stuffed some cold germs up there because my nose has been
stuffy and running since then.
I'm NED and happy. I gave a small "Yipee!" in the hall way and a little
jump for joy.
Life is good.

Ah yes, Clarence Thomas, the Bush sock-puppet, who feels Brown Vs. Board of
Education, 1954, and the integration of American schools that followed was
as "wrong" in 1954 as are decisions by school boards in Seattle and
elsewhere today to deny a few white children enrollment in schools they live
close to, but are not "assigned" to by remanants of the arrangements for
equalizing educational opportunity across racial groups in America that,
perhaps more than any other top-down change and social revolution in the
last 53 years, has promoted the true spirit of American democracy, and
helped heal the festering historical wounds of slavery and racism that
caused the Civil War and 20 million deaths.
How about you omit your cliche'd right-wing fascist propaganda-blurbs at the

And brought water, and fill'd a tub for his sweated body and bruis'd feet,
And gave him a room that enter'd from my own, and gave him some coarse clean

Oh, soft spoken one. I'm sorry if you were offended.

The beauty of the usenet is that you can kill-file posters whose behavior
shows consistent disregard for the ethical values of respect for the
diversity of opinion and experience of others by posting on off-topic areas
like religion, politics, etc. which are not specifically related to the
discussions at hand, broadly defined.

Hello Group,
I am confused. I thought this thread was about Janet's good news.
And then out of the blue I see Clifto and UnkaSally going at it from a
place that seems out of place. Unk, you seem to be guilty of what you
are criticizing. I haven't seen Clifto's post in the first place so I
can't comment. But boys, with all the pain that is normal and natural
for this room, why don't you take your business outside like a well
trained dog would. If you need someone to open the door, consider it
done. This thread was a parade that didn't need rain, it looked to me
like it was making everyone feel good.
On the other hand perhaps my 11 mo. out chemo-radio saturated head is
just cheese anymore. Remember, we're all in this together and in
house/room b.s. seems counterproductive. Oh yeah, good for you

I think you have made an error. Clifto who is well known in the anti
spam circles was asking Uncle Sally to post the headers so he could see
where the original message came from. Clifto from my experience has
never posted such things to the net.
He was looking for the original message that Uncle Sally was responding to.

I canceled the article asking for headers after I saw J's article, but the
cancel apparently didn't take. (They frequently do if I send them soon
enough after the original, i.e. before the server passes stuff on.)

Clifto,
You wrote that April 17th (3 months ago) - too late to cancel, since we already saw
it.
And cancelling the post (had that worked) does not cancel it out of Uncle Sally's
memory.
In retrospect, if we'd mentioned concrete and not being able to breathe to you when
you first came here, before treatment, I suspect you would have been upset/alarmed as
well. You know the panic/fear of not being able to breathe. It could have turned into
a treatment turnoff, although I realize you did not mean it to be and words over the
internet can be misconstrued.
Can you find it in your heart to sincerely apologize to Uncle Sally?

Could you please get rid of these political signatures?
Thank you.

I find it curious that you are asking Clifto not to post a signature
while others can post any political viewpoint, I remember during the
elections numerous anti Bush posts, I see anti smoking and anti
Walmart,,,, are you saying that only one viewpoint is tolerated here?
That if you lean a certain way you are not welcome.....isn't that
censorship?
Should religion be avoided too since many find that offensive? This
is a usenet group, Uncle Sally had the right answer just ignore the
posts that you find offensive or unhelpful.Take the information you
find helpful and ignore the rest, |

This is Clifto's signature he puts it on his Usenet posts.
Same as I do but not so political. He has the right to do so if he
wants to.
So get off your high horse and let it be.
Maybe I will add Republicans are crooks to mine.

It's just a sig line, so what's the big deal...???
You *really* need to get off of Usenet and seek help from a mental
health professional regarding the acting out of your severe "control"
issues. Just a guess, but I'd bet dollars for donuts that you are
suffering from some sort of bi - polar disorder...*not* good when you
are attempting to "control" vulnerable people on an un - moderated and
medically - oriented newsgroup.

Thanks for posting link to the original, J. I couldn't imagine Clifto
being so cruel & now I see he was just using irony. Uncle Sally, I hope
you understand now that no meanness was intended. It's easy enough to
misread stuff & probably even more so when you are in the front lines of
battle & might not know Clifto as some of us do.
If you get time, you might want to go back & read some of Clifto's posts
from when he was having radiation.
I hope you can each mend fences as you both have so much to offer

We just left New Jersey where we were for 10 days. We stayed with my son
and we baby sat for Marcella so Mommy and Daddy could go to dinner and a
movie. What fun! I was able to take her for walks and to the swings. I
got to spend time with my two "older" grandgirls who are 10 and 7 and my
other daughter came down to NJ to visit her mother so I got to spend a
little extra time with my MA grandgirls and grandson. All the little
girls got on so well.
I also got to eat my favorite NJ foods like sweet corn, beefsteak
tomato, pizza (no where else in the USA makes pizza as good) pastrami, a
sub sandwich and Chinese food. I hope I didn't gain too much weight,
though my GYN told me to gain some. That's a first! Saw cousins and
girlfriends. It was a happy visit.
We are in Newport, RI and will tour some mansions tomorrow. Then off to MA

What a fabulous time! I didn't know you had so many grandchildren. I
have always wanted to visit Newport. Socks stayed in an amazing hotel
in RI, but I had to stay home & bring home bacon that time. I am in The
Woodlands a lot these days, just North of Houston. Weekends are fun. I
visited my sister outside of Dallas & next time will visit friends in
New Braunfels who recently moved there from Seattle. Seems like you
live in S. TX somewhere.
Enjoy!

Thanks Fig.
I live in the Lower Rio Grande Valley, known to Texans as just "The
Valley" I'm a little over half an hour to South Padre Island and 5 miles
from Mexico.
The Woodlands are growing rapidly. Lots of new restaurants there. New
Braunfels is lovely. The Hill Country is one of my favorite places in
America. Soul-soothing.
If you ever decide to go south, let me know. We have guest rooms.

Wow - you ARE South. Sounds like you are through with MD Anderson, but
if you ever have business there, maybe we could grab a bite. I don't
expect these long trips to go on forever.
Yes, restaurants. Mostly chains, but good ones like Brio, PF Chang,
Cheesecake. Pappadeux (sp). The company cafeteria is beyond belief.
All fresh & most cooked to order - gorgeous fish. Designed to be
wholesome & healthy & very, very good.
I love Fredericksburg & think I've been to New Brunfels or through it,
but a long time ago. I used to canoe & tube around that area. I found
my wonderful kitty dumped by the Bandera river. Named him Bandy & had
him for 17 years or so. He moved from Dallas to Denver with us in a
memorable car trip.
Don't know if I will have more weekends to wander, but if I get down
your way, I'll let you know. Thank you! And enjoy your time in | | |
