Default Husband and Mother with Cancer

Husband with colon cancer with mets to both lungs and lymph nodes in trunk
of body. Getting a protime done weekly now but keeps adjusting dosage. We
have 3, 4 and 5 now on hand of warfrin. This is for a blood clot in a vein
behind the port. Found out it can take 3 months for a clot to dissolve. He
has quit work. The humidity was bothering his breathing too much. Otherwise
everything is about the same. Regular Dr. was on vacation last week and the
Dr. that saw him mentioned about how long he has been coming there and how
good he is doing. That made him feel better plus we did put him on an
antidepressant 3 weeks ago. I think that has helped also. Mom is in a wait
and see pattern with her liver cancer. We aren't doing anything now until
August when she will have more blood work done and a MRI of the liver this
time instead of a cat scan. The last one the Dr. said that the liver looked
okay and her liver enzymes were better. Just hanging in there where they are
concerned. Will update if something new comes to lit with either of them.

I'm glad to hear things go well with your mother, Gloria.
Now that hubby's stopped work and on anti-depressant maybe time to have a talk
with him about "mother/daugter" cancer cells. Daughter cells have set up shop
in his lungs. They too are shedding daughter cells. They feed locally,
wherever they've travelled to and find a blood supply to help them grow.

I worry that being on chemo too long makes the daughter cells grow more
aggressively (since they're already "seen" the chemo).
There may be other ways to help him breathe. Has he been seen by a radiation
oncologist?
He also might want to ask if he's tested positive for the KRAS gene.-- mentioned
here.

Take a break, get or check the test, talk about options, while watching the
behavior of the tumors.
That's what I'd do. But only you 3 can talk about and decide on these things.

Thanks for the update, Gloria.
Please let us know how it goes.
J
