so, without forcing us to visit your dodgy website, what exactly is your
problem? I'm sure we can help, if only you'd tell us about it here.

OK, maybe not.

Is this abuse needed. Try AML on any search engine.

Not that funny, is it?

Hi

Are you saying you or someone you care about has acute myeloblastic
leukemia, acute myeloid leukemia, acute granulocytic leukemia or acute
nonlymphocytic leukemia.

If so ,when was the diagnosis? What if any treatment plans?

People on this news group are supportive if you have cancer.

Help us to help you, if you have cancer.

I have AML. A doctor did tell me it is Myeloblastic, but I think she was
guessing.

There are no treatment plans. After well over ten years of the abuse I've
had on this group, in real life, with violence, I'm not interested.

Hi

I am sorry to read that you have AML and it makes me sad that you are
not interested in treatment as there is treatment and it could be
successful. I understand from your web site you have been going
through a very difficult phase in your life for a long time. Things
do change and can change, whilst you have life, so don't give up yet.

Have you seen

http://www.cancerbackup.org.uk/Cance...eral/WhatisAML

This could turn things around for you, maybe with rehousing.

If you feel the need to express yourself, please do so - It is easier
to understand you if you use plain English - I know I did not follow
up on your messages at first because they were so cryptic.

What sort of support do you need from the news group?

How do you feel? are you in pain? Is there anyone there to care for
you, spouse, partner, friend?

Take care,
Isi

It was plain English: does the tonsils problem ever reduce one to liquid
food (third time)?

> What sort of support do you need from the news group?

I don't know.

Not really. A moderate fever started today. Tonsils are much quieter
than yesterday. Tired, obviously.

No.

Thanks for your decent response.

Hi

Sorry to learn that you are dealing with this alone, it makes it so
much more difficult.

Please can you explain as tonsils can have many problems.

> It was plain English: does the tonsils problem ever reduce one to liquid

What is the exact problem with tonsils? Are they swelling?
Knowing more about the problem you ask about, will make it easier for
someone to answer you.

I am not a medical person I have cancer too. Have you taken a pill,
perhaps one paracetamol to reduce your fever, if it is safe for you to
do so.

All the best

They become over sensitive. My mother choked on a turkey bone, I choked
on SosMix.

You know SosMix? Looks like this, http://www.sosmix.broomleigh.com/

It is possible to choke on a turkey bone (I think), and it was 26
December. I found SosMix frightening, having washed it down, and it
still felt like it was there.

> I am not a medical person I have cancer too.

What do you have? If it's pc, cutting out meat is likely to extend you
life. SosMix has a pleasant taste, just as long as you do not expect it
to be anything remotely like sausage.

I must try. I think I have some LemSip somewhere.

Please tell me what you have.

Love from Tom.

Tom. What should I call you, and what does it mean? Do you want to live?

> I found these on the cancerbackup website,

Strange, I found that web site almost useless.

Some of those are close. One looks dreadful, the others perhaps, perhaps
not. The North-West can be quite retrograde, service can be dreadful at
times.

I wish I could stay, but Keith Exford has prevented that.

I'm sorry I don't write much, and what I do write, is self-centred. I hope
I die soon.

We do not support leukemias here.

There's a private email list for AML support here (474 subscribers could bring
you lots of love and guidance)
http://www.acor.org/mlists/mlists.html
Click on the list name and follow the instructions.

Also there's a discussion board here for support.
http://www.leukemia-lymphoma.org/hm_lls
Click on it, on the left side of the screen and you'll find the section for
AML.
Good luck.
J

Hi Tom

I am Isi, it has no special meaning that I know of, just a name.

I am sorry your tonsils become over sensitive. I don't know why. Did
your Mother die when she choked on the turkey bone? Can only suggest
you take very small bites and make sure the food is moist and soft.
Difficult if you like crunchy foods.
Have you spoken to your doctor about this? Sounds like you need
someone medical to answer your question. I think there is some sort
of mouthwash one can use before eating, it desensitises the mouth and
tonsils. I don't know it's name, sorry.

Yes I know SosMix, I used to eat it sometimes, can make shepherds pie
with it and it's a very good source of protein. Are you vegetarian?

I have cancer of unknown primary, with confirmed metastasis in lungs,
kidney, and with suspected metastasis in jaw and lymph nodes.

On the left hand side of the cancerbackup site there are links, that's
where I found the addresses for the support services around
Manchester. I do so hope you can find some support near you.

Yes I want to live. Sometimes it's very hard and I feel tired of it
all but there are some good days too when laughter flows, and they are
worth staying around for. When things get difficult and I feel down,
it's time to change whatever I am doing and I can only do that if I am
alive. I am determined to die happy, If you can change your life a
little bit maybe you will find it more fun and want to live too. I
know that may sound strange.

Have you checked out the links that J gave you for the internet groups
with a special interest in AML? It may be worth doing that, as the
people there will have a greater understanding your type of cancer and
have similar experience with the disease.

take care Tom,
All the best to you,
Isi

Just an AML symptom (though I get a lot of it, rare to miss it for more
than 2 days). Not that big a deal really.

> Did your Mother die when she choked on the turkey bone?

Certainly not. She probably was not choking on the bone, only the
feeling of it. She died from AML, age 43, younger than I am now. It's
not so young to die. They dragged her in and out of hospital. As she
worked for the hospital system here, she had a room to herself, at first.
I think maybe that was intended for only a week or two, not long stays.

How long do you suggest SoxMix remains in your throat after washing it
down? I'm sure it just feels like it's still there, but the feeling is
convincing, very convincing I think. I seriously thought 'I am choking
on this stuff and must wash it down,' and 'then wash it down some more,'
until I realised I'd had this feeling in the same place before, without
the SosMix. So I forgot it. What the heck - probably life or something,
then this, then that, none of it particularly new, and you know how it
goes, . . .

Someone I knew as a child on the radio from Holland died recently (2002),
age 49, Myocardial Infarction. Life's a bitch, but it happens, and it
can happen younger, like I fear it is to you.

> Can only suggest you take very small bites

SosMix (UK) is not crunchy, unless you burn it.

> Yes I know SosMix, I used to eat it sometimes, can make

Some good vegie stuff can be bought, but in Bulgaria? How do you get
treatment in Bulgaria. I used to listen to Communist nonsense from Radio
Sofia (in excellent English). The worst was Albania, full of pig iron
production statistics, always ending, "good bye dear listener."

I heard they still drive East German Trabants in Bulgaria.

> I have cancer of unknown primary, with confirmed metastasis in lungs,

Once it's on two organs, that's it, in general?

> On the left hand side of the cancerbackup site there are links,

I was wondering how you knew Rochdale is in Manchester, but my screen
name says. Otherwise it would be remarkable knowledge of UK geography.

> I am determined to die happy,

Your English is excellent. What are your symptoms?

> Have you checked out the links that J gave you for the

I've looked but J is so unkind to me, I don't want to give anything away.

> It may be worth doing that, as the people there
> will have a greater understanding your type of cancer
> and have similar experience with the disease.

Albeit I've had it with me mum. Couldn't understand the effort she put
into our last days out to the seaside ( . . . you know the sea, maybe the
Black Sea - maybe not).

I met some Bulgarians on a study week in Scotland doing Maths (they were
doing medicine in English) - seemed nice, but didn't reply to my letters.

Then there was a Bulgarian at a German evening class I attended, who been
in the communist Bulgarian Army. Told me I didn't know what Sofia is
like. I said it's full of concrete, she said I must have been there.

We also had a Russian woman learning German. She was very happy when
they got onto the war. They take it very seriously in Russia.

Friends I knew in East Germany were fed Bulgarian wine because the local
Saxon wine was for export. I tried Meißen wine, it is good.
