From the article:

"His article, Hemochromatosis or Iron Overload - the Neglected Diagnosis
was a scathing attack on the medical profession for ignoring excess iron
in the body. Physicians were more interested in anaemias and low iron
deficiency and did not really perform the necessary tests of iron
metabolism to diagnose the opposite end of the spectrum - iron
overload."

This sets the context of his remarks, iron overload far in excess of
normal levels because of a genetic disorder, not from usual consumption
of iron bearing foods in the average diet. The small snips in the
original post give a grossly distorted impression.

No mention of .. genetic .. anywhere ..

You bring it up ..

'Opposite' .. end .. means .. high versus .. low ..

You 'interpret' .. it to .. MEAN .. "grossly high" .. when it does not
say that ..

It says iron overload .. and when cancer "skyrockets at 37% saturation
... then it gives .. credence .. TO .. 'minor' iron overload as opposed
to "grossly high" overload .. BEING .. dangerous .. killer .. bad for
ya ..

"No mention of .. genetic .. anywhere .."

from the article:

""His article, Hemochromatosis ..."

The latter being a genetic disorder, quite rare, which causes iron
overload and which this small fact thus known excludes the usual diet as
the cause of overload. Thought unaware people would want to know they
were being misled. I see we have an agenda to push here.

hmmmm - no, actually he didn't - your article does:

CAUSES OF IRON OVERLOAD

HEREDITARY

Hereditary hemochromatosis is a genetic disease in which abnormal genes permit
the individual to absorb too much iron from an ordinary diet. This hereditary
factor is probably the most common way people get overloaded with iron...

Jerome Sullivan who has published papers on iron as a cause of heart disease
since 1981 believes that hereditary hemochromatosis is basically the reason
some families have a greatly increased risk of heart disease.

first on the list, and in caps - impossible to misinterpret.

as to 'saturation' level...well, too much of anything is bad for the body -
even too much water will kill you.
iron per se is necessary for life.

the point of the article was not 'normal' levels, rather overload/saturation
levels...

A transferrin index of over .. over .. over .. o-v-e-r .. "greater than

Now .. you believe that a marker of 31% - 37% is indicative of .. iron
overload .. do ya .. calvin ..

Now WHY would you be attempting to tell people with .. cancer .. that
the normal marker 31% - 37% .. mentioned above .. IS .. iron overload
... when in FACT .. 'they' consider it .. normal .. ?

Wouldn't be because YOU have an .. agenda .. ?

You will .. lie .. to someone with cancer ..

Or .. you are just .. stupid ..

Take your .. pick .. you are a lying piece of crap with no regards for
your fellow man .. or you are .. stupid ..

You HAVE to pick .. one ..

Heh .. heh ..

http://www.ironpanel.org.au/AIS/AISd...aboratory.html

<<snip>>
Transferrin saturation
As an index of iron transport rather than storage, this measure
(calculated from serum iron and TIBC) is an alternative to serum
ferritin. However, as it is affected by the same confounding factors it
will not add much additional information in iron deficiency if a serum
ferritin has already been ordered. A serum transferrin saturation of
>55% can be a very useful indication of possible iron overload. On the other hand, if serum ferritin is elevated but transferrin saturation is low, the patient is unlikely to have iron overload.

<<snip>>

Either way .. calvin .. you are useless .. buddieee .

Stay out of the medical newsgroups ..

See reason .. above ..

I'll snip it for stupid people .. "you are useless "

Who loves ya.
