I continue to be impressed with your knowledge and reasonable advice to
folks.

I'm especially impressed with how you are able to keep tabs on folks so that
if someone comes on board with XXX cancer you can indicate folks here who
have had that cancer (or had relatives with that cancer).

Just curious how you do it. Do you use a spreadsheet or database??

As one who keeps records on a variety of items (financial mostly) I'm just
curious.

I might add that my hardest records to keep are the medical ones. I never
know what the insurance is going to do and good luck sometimes trying to
decipher what they are doing. Also fun if you have lab tests as you get
bills from all kinds of doctors involved!

I wonder how folks with all these tests/treatments do it. But that's another
subject.

Hi Mel,
You remind me of a fella who posted (here) many of his medical bills and the
prices right down to the price of the soap that was billed to his insurance. I
suspect he kept track somehow, but I don't know how.

No, I don't keep a spreadsheet nor database. But a longtimer on the prostate
cancer newsgroup does, even to their treatments, but theirs are mostly all one
cancer and the list of treatments (initial ones) are 5 or 6, whereas here, with
all the different chemos or combos, it would be a 24 hour job keeping tabs on
all that.

Most humans are born with a database, memory in the brain. It's really true that
I think of others, even when not on newsgroup, I remember one or the other and
put a callout, because I realize we haven't heard for a while. I rarely forget
anyone who posts here, if they stay here a while and we get to know them.
And I can always refresh my memory, in the archives, if someone asks about a
rarer cancer.
Thanks for asking.
Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, Mel.
J
