Default Lump in my throat

I have had a lump in my throat since March. It's most notable at night when
I lay in bed and watch TV. I have no troubles swallowing food... `cept for
peanut butter. If I'm going to eat peanut butter, I must have milk or water
(or any fluid) to "chase" it down with. I have had an upper G.I. and my
esophagus looks great. This week, I had some blood work. So, week after
next, I'm going to an ENT. My GP told me that it was important enough to
see an ENT (I told him it wasn't that bad, but he was adamant about this).

And I'm still smoking like an idiot. Doc thinks it could by something w/my
thyroid. I have gained a lot of wait quite fast in the past 4 months. I'm
actually a little nervous of all this. Y'all keep your fingers crossed that
it's nothing, please!!

Laurie I have had a lump in mine since a year ago January after finishing up
the 38 days of radiation to my left upper lung and the top of my esauphagus.
I think that is spelled wrong but I think you get the drift.
They tell me this will dissapate in time and I am still waiting.
Betsy
It is still there and I too have been scoped. There is just nothing showing
there.

Can't help it. I have had so much happen to me. First my husband left me,
then my mother died. I smoke and stay in denial.

Hi Laurie, I lost my Old Mum one year ago last week , She died because the
operation that she had for her cancer went badly wrong? I suffered many
years with a depressive illness and for me a cigarette was my only salvation
, My lung cancer proved that I did not really need them .I just needed to
keep my mind occupied with other things ( I give support to teens that are
suffering from depression). How easy it is to dwell on the past and not look
to the future, we are each responsible for our own lives and the happiness
that we find within it, and Yes! things will happen that we have no control
over, but never give in to them. My Old Mum at the age of 90yrs knew how to
fight, she never gave in ,right to the end .
Stay safe and God Bless , Peter

Dearest Peter,

I'm sorry you lost your mom. `Sounds like she was a spunky little lady to
fight until she was 90. God bless her soul. And I'm *really* sorry to hear
of your lung cancer. Are you in remission now? I'm only asking because it
sounds like you are. If so, that's so great, if not, follow your mom's
footsteps and fight like hell. As far as my smoking goes, sometimes I am
scared to death when I light one up, and there are other times that I just
don't care. I miss my mother terribly and I get these urges to wonder how
it would be to join her sooner than later. But that's just my grief
talking. I've used the patches before to get off the smokes, and I'll do
this again soon. The power is in my hand... I just gotta do it.

Peace,

Hi Laurie,
Yes , My Mum was a tough old bird and she still feeds me with
my strength to this day. Although we lived some distance from each other we
would talk on the phone on a daily basis and I would visit her as often as
I could . I am told that I have about five months of life left but they told
me something on those lines some seven years ago. What the hell do these
specialists know anyhow, hehe.
Give up on your cigarettes when its right for You Laurie, take no notice of
me preaching the rights and wrongs of life.
I guess that you miss your Mum as badly as I miss mine ,but what about your
husband? maybe he is the one that is missing out on one of the better things
in life .

I'm an email buddy if you need one. Stay safe, Peter.

"Tough old bird"? My father gave my mom a gold bird on a necklace. That's
what he called Mom. How ironic you said this!! And now I wear it on my
necklace because I need to be a tough old bird too. Right before my mom's
cancer got really bad, my husband left me. So, as far as the rest of this
conversation goes, I think that I shall email you to keep the personal stuff
to us.

Peace, Peter.
